Yep as i put in the Trueman thread we’ll get nothing for him if we leave it until the end of his contract. If he won’t sign a new deal then for me we cash in and invest the money in the rebuild we are going to desperately need. He can go to the highest bidder.Fumper27 wrote: ↑23 May 2021, 16:37Thanks for clarifying. I believe he is club trained player at Leeds but he has recently surpassed his 22nd birthday. This would mean that Leeds are not entitled to any compensation and no transfer fee should he choose to leave. The player is in a better negotiating position. This applies to Trueman also. If he stays another year and then transfers the new club would not have to pay compensation or a fee. Meaning more cash could be offered to the player himself! I was told Leeds wished to retain Sutcliffe on the same wage which he refused to comply with. So there could be some mileage in a transfer to Cas.Tigersbarmy wrote: ↑23 May 2021, 13:22 He’s not ooc though at Leeds and don’t think we will pay a fee for him.

I agree. He either signs or is sold - it’d be very disappointing to be in the position this time next year where he can walk for nothing.

What if Truey uses his head and wants to see out his current contract to give him a bigger pay day further down the track from suitors not having a transfer fee to pay?derbystiger wrote: ↑23 May 2021, 21:43I agree. Re: Alex Sutcliffe
If he refuses to sign a contract this year get rid, cash in, we shouldn't loose money on him.

Re: Alex Sutcliffe
How can we lose money on him he didn't cost us owt from Bradford in first place. Up to now we have had the best young up and coming half on the cheap ' if Truey believes the club can move forward under Radford he may want to stay but we will certainly have to pay big to keep him out of the hands of the likes of Wire and Leeds.

We’ve spent money on him.
We pay powells, orrs, sheridans wages who as put 1000’s of hours into this player.
We’ve had him Since he was 15/16yrs old.
So we have put lots into jake trueman to get him to where he is now.

We signed him about a month before before his 18th birthday.old cas lass wrote: ↑24 May 2021, 19:32Sharlotiger wrote: ↑24 May 2021, 19:16How can we lose money on him he didn't cost us owt from Bradford in first place. Re: Alex Sutcliffe
Makes no difference that he didn’t cost anything from Bradford. A lot of time and effort has gone into making him a valuable asset. So, at the moment he’s worth a decent chunk of cash. This time next year he won’t be worth anything as he can walk for nothing and use that to negotiate a better deal for himself. Cas need to be selfish and make sure that, if he’s here this time next year, he has a value, which means him signing an extension. If he won’t then we need to be looking at offers for him. If you have something that is worth a lot of money but end up having to give it away of course you’ve lost money - the initial price makes no odds.Sharlotiger wrote: ↑24 May 2021, 19:16How can we lose money on him he didn't cost us owt from Bradford in first place.
