Also Matt keeps asking for people to volunteer as moderators but none of us do other than Casmania so we all have to take some of the responsibility

Very little tolerance for trolls, I’m afraid.

Re: Matagi
Therein lies the problem. You have to put personal feelings to one side and be impartial.
You can't ban someone for being annoying, however much you find them annoying or disagree with them. Freedom of speech and all that. The issue is abuse, nastiness, and multiple accounts some users patently have. Perhaps that should include abuse/OTT comments of players and club officials too, after all we are now in the #BeKind era.
Perhaps we need to refresh the AUP and come up with some new collective forum rules that are stronger as well as new mods.

Is it part of the AUP to not troll a forum... I'm useless with IT I wouldn't be banning people on here tho except if it's clear there coming on here to troll the forum

Re: Matagi
Define a troll though. A person start hundreds of rumours isn't a troll. Just someone who has too much time on their hands and obviously doesn't care about accuracy or reputation. That is their personal choice.
I see a troll as someone who deliberately tries to get a rise out of someone, either by mentioning them by name in a thread where they haven't replied, deliberately trying to antagonise someone, or simply by posting things that could upset someone. I'd also characterise pointing out spelling and grammar errors as that now.

In this case, I’d define a troll as someone using this forum as a platform for causing damage to the club.HuddsTigers wrote: ↑20 May 2021, 06:57 Define a troll though. Notts, I really respect you.
But in what way is the club being damaged.

Re: Matagi
1. Abuse of players. It’s okay to be critical of performances and express opinions, but there are some posters who consistently berate individual players over a period of time.old cas lass wrote: ↑20 May 2021, 07:54 Notts, I really respect you.

2. Abuse of staff. There have been some really hurtful things written about some of the staff at the club on here, by people who haven’t even met the individuals they are abusing.
3. Constant rumour-mongering; whilst there will always be speculation about player movements, there are some on here who are just making stuff up. That then gets picked up by so-called journalists (I use that term loosely) and ‘reported’ elsewhere. As a result, club staff are constantly asked what is true and what isn’t true in interviews etc.
4. The impact of those rumours on players, who are then constantly asked if they are true. For example, I don’t think Paul McShane was impressed when he had to constantly deny he was moving house because someone made it up on here.
5. The demands for the club to deny every rumour that appears on here. When something is made up, it gains traction. That traction is then amplified if the club don’t deny what’s been made up. As a result, the club are in a no-win situation where they either need to employ someone in a full-time role to deny the rubbish that is put on here, or make it seem believable by not denying it.
Re: Matagi
I agree with that a case in point was when Powell announced he was leaving and everybody was up in arms at Fulton for being a cheapskatenottinghamtiger wrote: ↑20 May 2021, 07:51In this case, I’d define a troll as someone using this forum as a platform for causing damage to the club.HuddsTigers wrote: ↑20 May 2021, 06:57 Define a troll though. One person for about three weeks used nearly every thread to make the same point about about the club being finished and having a pop at Fulton I'd class that as trolling but as HuddsTiger said other people will think that's ok just someone giving there opinion over and over again

Just cos he’s in Squad don’t mean he’s anywhere near playing.
