Re: Paul McShane
Just because he’s opened talks with the club does not mean he’ll be staying.
His agent is saying all the right things at the min.
That could change if we offer him x amount,
And other clubs offer him xx amount.
So not cut and dry he’ll be a cas player next year or beyond.

Re: Paul McShane
True, but there was a statement on here yesterday that he’s already rejected a new deal when negotiations haven’t even started. Why do people do that?;

I take rumours especially from certain posters with a pinch of salt.

Idiocy?
Re: Paul McShane
McShane will be 33 years old at the end of his contract, yes he’s been great for us and we have had the best of his career but how long do people think they can go on for. As a club we need to be looking at replacing these players before they start declining not giving them new contracts. Let’s not have another Lynch or Shenton
Re: Paul McShane
I wouldn't believe anything Harrison says every agents sole objective is to get the best deal for there client

Sorry he’ll be 36 November.
Re: Paul McShane
Especially when his salary is percentage based on players contracts. The more a player gets, the more he gets. I

Re: Paul McShane
We can hope the negotiations go well and he chooses to stay at Cas and I'm not particularly worried about his age.
I was told yesterday the football pundit and retired footballer, Micah Richards is younger than Jamie Vardy who is still playing quality football. Age is just a number and it's what they actually do that counts.

Re: Paul McShane
If I was in a limited time career and I had a window open up to maximise my earning potential, no matter how happy or otherwise I was, I would probably use it.
I don't blame any player out of contract or with options for hanging their hat on this disruption. We only support Cas, people come and go. Players are paid, Macca has himself suffered at being out of favour and equally not looking good in some systems, the opposite has been true at Cas. I would be looking for assurances if I was him that wasn't about to happen again..... Equally, if we are a professional club, then I would expect this to have been anticipated and everyone should have the experience to manage this, including Radford. There are a few in the current squad I would have expected we have been managing directly in the decision making, not necessarily them being decision makers, but including them in the objectives and the discussions.
I would rather us announce and cut people loose now, than be hamstrung as we have been before letting decisions drift on and we end up cobbling replacements together.

The club have marketing managers who I am sure are well versed in the use of social media for business purposes. They should be able to answer most if not all those allegations. Surely in light of recent events in Football, it is in the best interests of the club to be open and transparent, without the fans what have they got? Not my money !

Re: Paul McShane
No club has the capacity (or quite frankly the need) to deny every single baseless rumour that is posted on social media. Rumours have always existed and always will - it's just that social media has given them a bigger platform.SAck wrote: ↑28 Apr 2021, 15:32 The club have marketing managers who I am sure are well versed in the use of social media for business purposes. Some will turn out to be true, most will turn out to be untrue.

If Mcshane stays I hope Radford makes him captain
