Re: Matautia
This is what he said....
Murmurs tonight that Castleford outside back Peter Mata'utia has agreed to join Warrington next year, on a likely two-year deal. Asked Warrington and they have denied it.

Re: Matautia
That’s a blow if true he’s looked really good this season, I thought peanut would be one to stay to be honest but off he goes I guess with Powell.
Re: Matautia
Powell out now enough is enough.
Not even May so shouldn’t be agreeing nothing.

Re: Matautia
Whilst this is still only a rumour, I’m getting more and more concerned that whilst Powell wants to do well at Cas in 2021, his long term goal is about the improvement of Warrington in 2022.
It pains me to say it, but it is time for him to go if, whilst being paid as our head coach, he’s persuading our players not to re-sign at Cas and move with him next year.
It’s a big IF, though. Players come and go every season and there is nothing to say players wouldn’t move to Warrington anyway. It’s down to those running the club to make sure we aren’t been taken for a ride by the man who is supposed to be our head coach.

Re: Matautia
No way Mautautia would have been on Warringtons list of wanted players ,Trueman ok I can accept that but I hope the rumour about Mautautia isn't true Powell would lose respect from me if it is

Re: Matautia
I really don’t see any sense in getting Powell out the way the squad is playing.
I remember Raper moving to Wigan mid-season. Stead man did as well as he could in the circumstances but in the short and longer term it ripped the heart out of the squad and the fans IMO

Re: Matautia
Exactly. The majority of frustration is being driven what is being reported by the press or posted on a couple of forums - so not fact based. Just speculation - some of which will turn out to be drivel.Tamworth Tiger wrote: ↑17 Apr 2021, 07:50 I really don’t see any sense in getting Powell out the way the squad is playing.

Leave DP where he is unless he factually does something that is in breach of his contract.
His body language indicates that he's as desperate to win something with us as he's always been.

Re: Matautia
So, we let Powell go now and make absolutely no difference to who he or cannot sign for Warrington. Makes total sense to me.

Re: Matautia
I don’t see what they supposedly see in him. He works hard in defence but going forward still frustrates me with his sidewards runs rather than trying to step round and through a defence.
Re: Matautia
This happens every time are players are off contract I'd be amazed if Saints even looked at himNorth Leeds Tiger wrote: ↑24 Apr 2021, 20:50 I don’t see what they supposedly see in him. He's a decent enough player but we can do a lot better at centre for next year than him depending on how strong a team the new coach is going to be allowed to have
