Brian Mcdermott
Re: McDermott
Whoever Cas go with, I support. Coaches come and go. With regards to Brian, not my first choice, but why are so many saying no straight away? He has won things with Leeds, and also proved himself on a shoe string with the London Broncos.
My choice would be someone like Danny Orr, who would probably be a bigger risk

Re: McDermott
The last few years, especially since 2017, he's derogatory to and about the club. Doesn't come over at all as a nice bloke.Stokesey wrote: ↑02 Apr 2021, 07:52 Whoever Cas go with, I support. He's won things with Leeds we can only dream of, however, that Leeds team he had, especially early on, was the best Super League has ever seen, especially in it's prime when they were winning trebles. He was damn lucky in 2017 that we decided to have a proper meltdown the week before the GF.
Powell has his moments, where he can be petulant in interviews, but McDermott is like that win or lose. He would drain the life out of this club, as well as the ethos we have in our style of play.

Re: McDermott
Our saving grace could be Chester getting the sack anytime soonat Wakie and Brian Mac deciding to coach his hometown club.

So long as we don't end up with Chester, who is useless at best.covid tiger wrote: ↑02 Apr 2021, 10:36 Our saving grace could be Chester getting the sack anytime soonat Wakie and Brian Mac deciding to coach his hometown club.
what doesn't kill me simply makes me...stranger.
Re: McDermott
Be very disappointed if McDermott or Chester if I'm honest, can see Chester departing Wakefield soon though, his win loss record is shocking, with Andy Last taking over for now.bane73 wrote: ↑02 Apr 2021, 11:50So long as we don't end up with Chester, who is useless at best.covid tiger wrote: ↑02 Apr 2021, 10:36 Our saving grace could be Chester getting the sack anytime soonat Wakie and Brian Mac deciding to coach his hometown club.

Re: McDermott
My mum could have coached that Leeds team he had at his disposal between 2014- 2017
A la Millward and the Saints team he was coaching....

Re: McDermott
Chester big mates with Carter. If Leigh were decent he would have to be replaced but I recon he will survive this year due to Leigh been more woeful than Wakey - just.

Re: McDermott
Can they afford to sack Chester? If they lose their next 2 games their season is pretty much done. No league wins and out of the cup.
Not thing is as we will find out, who will they get if they did sack him?

Re: McDermott
Might be a case of their ambition only goes as far a SL survival. If Chester goes I recon Andy Last.

Re: Brian Mcdermott
It's Brian Mac to Cas. Also Expected to take up an advisory role with the club immediately before becoming head coach in 2022. Got this from the same bloke who told me Wells had gone nearly 2 month ago. Let's wait and see.
Re: Brian Mcdermott
Yet you waited until 8 days ago to put it on here? Wells only tendered his resignation at the end of March, so how did “your mate” know two months ago?
Re: Brian Mcdermott
That would make sense and would probably make the change over a lot smoother imocovid tiger wrote: ↑08 Apr 2021, 19:05 It's Brian Mac to Cas. Re: Brian Mcdermott
Wells went months ago and has had nothing to do with club this season. Club have only just gone public for some reason.
Re: Brian Mcdermott
So, the club lied when saying in their statement:
“Wells gave his period of notice at the end of March this year”?

Re: Brian Mcdermott
I went to school with Brian Mac, for the record he is a great bloke with masses of integrity, if he is to be our new coach he will work his socks of to be successfull in the job beccause thats always been his mantra.
And for what its worth he has a great sense of humour, hides it well though.

Re: Brian Mcdermott
Not exactly maybe his employment has only just ended officially but he has been absent for some time. I have asked the question time after time on this forum. The first post I put about Wells was removed for some reason back in February I think it was?
