So would I, Joe as had some good years at Hull and Wire, his fortunes only seemed to dip with his strange move to Toronto.Spanishtiger wrote: ↑11 Apr 2021, 10:19 According to the Wakey forum he's been their best forward in all 3 games. I'd like to swap him for Milner

Re: Joe westerman
I would prefer Westy over JSL, both pretty much similar age and I would image now that Westy would not command as much of a salary or at the very best about the same as JSL. Think for a 1/2 year deal would be worth a punt
Re: Joe westerman
Westy is not one i would even be thinking about signing, he is at wakey for a reason isnt he, or did he chose them from a long list of admiring clubs.
It would show a lack of ambition at the club if we re signed him, I feel he would see it as a last hurrah and toss it off as soon as the contract is signed
Im happy to be proved wrong though

I'd take him over Milner tomorrow. Having a cracker against Hull.

Re: Joe westerman
He's always had that air of unfulfilled potential about him & always looks a bit out of condition.
He did alright tonight though. WT had a real dig and will be a handful when we meet them.
SKY commentators as sharp as ever "Trinity's next games is against local rivals Castleford" - close, it's Catalans.

I just meant that we are not looking for former glory anymore, but better paid finding new ones.
I don't think a post 30 player is our target.

Re: Joe westerman
Joe Westerman is returning to his home town club for 2022 trust me on this (It's my 1st balls on the block post so go easy on me if I'm wrong, but this has come from someone that I trust)
I would love Joe back down the lane as he's still very hungry to rectify a few things that happened during his career here and I think that he'll go great for us in 2022

Re: Joe westerman
Radford signed him twice for Hull and wanted to keep him when he went to Wakey but the club would only offer him a one year deal and Wakey offered two so he took it. He’d be a good signing, Wakeys best by a mile this year.

Re: Joe westerman
i'd deffo take him at the form he's shown recently. the problem is some players get themselves back to their very best when their contract is ending and then their form drops off when they get a new one.

Re: Joe westerman
That’s why we should be careful on the length of contract we’d give him.
I’d offer a year with another year possible after that. He’d at least have something to play for (second year).

Re: Joe westerman
I've said it before and I'll say it again, when the rumours are Cas are signing X, they don't usually sign. When it's Cas player X has signed for Y, they usually leave.
