I think it’s a dangerous game for agents to be playing in the current climate. If I was a player I’d want a contract for the next year or two that guarantees a wage, rather than chasing the big deal.

I hate them but the sole role of an agent is to secure the best deal for their client. Some would say it's a skill and even in the current climate they should pushing it as far as they can.

Players will still be paid based on their value so while it may reduce the price tag a little, those that pay more will still get the cream off the top.
