Re: James Bentley
Out of contract Saints star has several clubs in his native Yorkshire interested in him for next season ...something like that if I remember correctly

Re: James Bentley
I don't think either are that good and would just be squad players not improving our match day 17.

Re: James Bentley
Most people said that about Olpherts and Griffin. Those two coming from a champion team can only be a good thing.

Depends who they’re replacing as well

Re: James Bentley
If this is an offer, I firmly believe it is one we will not be interested in.
A 5ft 8in second row / utility player .
Can't for the life of me see where he would fit in.
Hepi is not big and is a 'work in progress'.
Do we want another.?

Thing is were looking at a shortfall in money next season and maybe for years after that so as long as Mr Powell stays calling the shots we will be in a good position
I've criticised a number of his signings as a lot of folk have needless to say he's been proved right on most of them

Re: James Bentley
Maybe we’ve realised that you don’t need many top players beyond the spine and a couple of forwards. A team with Evalds, Trueman, Richardson and McShane and then a forward like Watts and you can put hard-working decent players around them, rather than top earners.tigerfeat wrote: ↑02 Jun 2020, 09:46 Thing is were looking at a shortfall in money next season and maybe for years after that so as long as Mr Powell stays calling the shots we will be in a good position

I'm sure his work ethic is better than mcmeekin's.
what doesn't kill me simply makes me...stranger.

Yes, but things get even tastier when the foot soldiers around them develop even more themselves and end up vital cogs themselves..tigerfeat wrote: ↑02 Jun 2020, 12:07Couldn't agree morenottinghamtiger wrote: ↑02 Jun 2020, 11:39Maybe we’ve realised that you don’t need many top players beyond the spine and a couple of forwards. I hope we have a formula and culture in place from top to bottom when Daryl’s time is over.

He was touted as one of the best up and coming kids about and Saints beat a host of teams to sign him.

Re: James Bentley
There’s an article in the daily mirror and it says us and Hull Kr are after James Bentley . And Cas , Huddersfield and Salford are after Ashworth. Also says young Rob Butler is attracting interest from clubs and so is Matt Whitley

Re: James Bentley
I’ve mentioned Matt Whitley a couple of times. Cracking player and would be an improvement on McMeeken if he leaves (and probably cheaper too).Tigersbarmy wrote: ↑02 Jun 2020, 23:20 There’s an article in the daily mirror and it says us and Hull Kr are after James Bentley . Re: James Bentley
Apparently saints have offered both players a contract. So we’ll see.

Re: James Bentley
Butler impressed me a lot Last year playing for London, was surprised nobody snapped him up. For a young bloke he has a lot going for him already and a ton of potential to tap into. I’d happily get him in if it’s time to move Cook on.Tigersbarmy wrote: ↑02 Jun 2020, 23:20 There’s an article in the daily mirror and it says us and Hull Kr are after James Bentley . Re: James Bentley
I think so. I haven’t seen much from McMeeken in most games since 2017. I’ve seen Whitley have a number of good games for Catalans, even though I don’t see every one of their matches.tigerfeat wrote: ↑03 Jun 2020, 10:47Whitley better than Mike ...come on nownottinghamtiger wrote: ↑03 Jun 2020, 08:41I’ve mentioned Matt Whitley a couple of times.
