Castleford’s interest stems from several of their existing forwards also being off-contract. Five members of the club’s pack – Junior Moors, Grant Millington, Mike McMeeken, Matt Cook and Daniel Smith are in the final months of their existing deals.

The Tigers are considering a number of potential recruits in the pack and have been linked with a move for Parramatta prop Kane Evans, though his wage demands have so far put off all interested parties, with Evans’ representatives commanding marquee money to sign the 28-year-old.

Re sign Smith 3 year deal an give millington and cook another yesr a piece. IIf jane evans is wanting marquee money then i think cas would walk away. No point upsetting the likes of watts and Macca and other top earners at cas.

I really doubt Ian Fulton will dip into his pockets and spend money on a marquee player

Just come off bench for Paramatta and had a good stint, he's massive. He'd be a good wrecking ball to bring on

Just watching Kane at the moment v broncos.

He seems to be getting 25-30 mins per match from the bench.

Looks very similar to Liam if I’m not mistaken, quite tall and has sneaked 3 or 4 offloads in the last 13 mins of the half (when he came on). The offloads werent worldies, but he’s definitely got a handling dimension to the add to our arsenal.

Anyone that even slightly resembles our best current prop is decent IMO.

No way we are paying a fee. Matagi has over a year left on his contract so unless they are releasing him for some reason or we are swapping a player I can't see it

Watching the Eels this morning and I’d be very happy if Kane Evans is the NRL forward we have signed

Seen his twice in consecutive weeks and he's certainly an handful. Like Watts, looks like a big imposing prop, but doesn't look to just lump it in, always wanting to offload and spin in the tackle.

I doubt we've signed him the money he'll want is probably out of our budget.

We’ve got a lot of flexibility this year in terms of the salary cap.
All depends on who leaves and who comes in. If we lose high-earners like McMeeken, Moors, Sene-Lafeo and Millington and replace most of them with cheaper players then we’d have more to spend on a top-line prop.
I believe we’ve signed Evans, and it was done a few weeks ago.
