Re: Half back
That’s the rumour
Re: Half back
Aaaaaand If he produces a stellar season upon signing for us, I wonder who we’d sell him to....

Re: Half back
To be fair I used to love watching Lilley play for Leeds, especially when we played them.
On a serious note, I'm not convinced he's any better than Ellis. Although he was highly rated at one point and 23 could improve yet. I wouldnt be surprised if we could get him for less than Ellis salary which might help us squeeze someone else in (clutching at straws maybe!?)
Uninspiring but not necessarily the end of the world at the right price. You never know, another one with a point to prove.
Re: Half back
Lilley is worse than Ellis zero reason not to have Ellis as back up half back seen as hes all ready here it your going to replace him with someone like lilley ....that's if we are

Re: Half back
bradford have already re-signed lilley now they are out of special measures but in league express today it says hkr were in talks with ellis before the bulls quintet became available so it looks as if smith rates ellis higher than lilley.

Re: Half back
To be honest i rate Ellis and Lilley pretty evenly, both aren’t particularly good. But they are only the backup option. I’ve no idea of their wages but if Lilley was say 20/25k cheaper a season and that extra meant, coupled with any room we have left on the cap, that we could bring in another prop to cover a couple of our ageing and injury prone guys then i’d be fine with it.
Re: Half back
I like Lilly. She was a lovely grandma.
On a more serious note, lilley is more likely to produce a line break than Ellis and is quicker too.

Re: Half back
I'd take Lilley over Ellis. Younger n cheaper and with the right coaching will be an improvement on Ellis. My only question is would he be happy playing reserve grade week in week out, providing our too starters stay fit?

Re: Half back
Another one of Show Me The Money's cast-offs. What is it with him palming all the deadwood off onto the club and us accepting?
Re: Half back
No super league side is going to sign Ellis you can't just tear his contract up and sign lilley or whoever you think might be slightly better unless your thinking of having four half backs
The back up to your two starting half backs should be young players your producing not championship standard players

Re: Half back
We went into last season with 5 halves and that turned out to be not enough, at present we only have Ellis as back up.tigerfeat wrote: ↑29 Oct 2019, 21:08 No super league side is going to sign Ellis you can't just tear his contract up and sign lilley or whoever you think might be slightly better unless your thinking of having four half backs

Re: Half back
Trueman Richardson Ellis or if he goes Lilley if we have to , other players can cover half backs and we must have some young player who can push on next season

Re: Half back
What makes people think that Lilley will just give up first team rugby to come and play back up for us? he left Leeds due to not getting game time. Regardless of what is happening at Bradford, he's playing week in week out. Can't see him giving that up to get an odd game.

Re: Half back
Gigot is an awkward player to control. I don't think living in Cas will make him any easier to deal with unfortunately. Though he is a class player.

Tom Holmes could have been a good shout to bring back. Still young.
