So that leaves Rankin and Mata'tiua - both quota spots - to be used as back up/cover. Not a chance.

It’s blatantly obvious we are missing a full back. Rankin has had a few decent games there, but let’s be honest - he is not a top level full-back. When we come up against a decent defence, he’s nowhere near good enough to offer an attacking threat.
I defended the club when we didn’t have a full-back in 2018. By the time Hardaker was suspended, there was nobody available.
But not having a proper full back in 2020 would be indefensible.
And I’m not buying the argument that there are been none available. Since we lost Hardaker, Saints have signed Coote, Wigan have signed Bevan French (who they don’t really need), Wakefield have signed Alex Walker, Catalans have signed David Mead and Sam Tomkins.
