Josh duggan would be perfect and fit right into void left by hardaker if we played him at full back instead of centre where hes been playing recently.

Think he would be marquee signing so wont be coming to us.

Dugan's playing with more bandages these days than Millington. Talis and a few ex players have come out saying he should retire before a big injury ends him. He's had various different injuries over the years and can't see to shake them off.

When a player with the experience and ability of josh Dugan becomes available you sometimes have to take a punt. Unfortunately it won’t be us as we are far too easy at throwing away quota spots on average players like Hepi and matautia.

Dugan is in the top 6 earners at the Dragons. No chance we will have the money regardless.

Not a bloody chance of us signing him, his price tag and wage demands are way out of our reach.

As I said at the top the Sharks are willing to pay some of his wage so not impossible for a super league club to sign him

Hepi is not counted on either quota.

They would all be counted on the salary cap, though, whoever pays them.

He's a world class player who can play anywhere in the back 5 and be better than anything we've got. But he comes with baggage.

Would love it but, even with part wage paid, vac see us being near.

I bet it wouldn't
If Sharks paid £100k and we paid £100k, we are only spending 100k on the cap

How would it work if Sharks paid him off this year for the duration of his contract?

And what have Dugan getting half of what he's currently getting paid? Not going to happen (certainly at those figures anyway)

I agree with Nottinghamtiger

Surely the £100k/£100k example is wide open to abuse? As a real-time comparison/example, I understand/believe that Koukash paid for Jackson Hastings this year but his wage still counted towards the cap..

Nope - it can and does happen.

We'd have hypothetically ONE contract with JD. £100k per season. End of

However his salary is made up rest of the time is completely upto parent club and the NRL.

Our salary cap declaration would or could be 100% accurate at 100k if sorted properly

Anything can be brokered if done correctly ?! Or am I being too shady

It's easier to do club to club because it could technically be a loan for the remainder of his contract with each team paying half.

Think people are missing the bigger point here. Why would he drop down from £400k a year to £200k to come and play for Cas....... Only a big money club is going to be able to afford him

I don't think so - I think the figures were more as an example, rather than an attempt to estimate his worth... they were from my POV anyway. I'm happy to be educated with the intricacies of RL SL contracts :-)

I don’t know how anyone can imagine that we can afford a player like Dugan to be honest.
