Re: Josh Dugan
If Bateman is on a reported 350k a year, duggan will certainly be more than double that. Takes him well away from us.

Re: Josh Dugan
Dugans salary, as a lot of top NRL players are, was reported when he signed his 4 year deal for the 2018 season. It worked out at around $750k (£408k approx) per year for the 4 years.

I think that approach was put a stop to a couple of years back.Mysterio wrote: ↑01 Oct 2019, 14:29 Nope - it can and does happen.
We'd have hypothetically ONE contract with JD. £100k per season. End of
However his salary is made up rest of the time is completely upto parent club and the NRL.
Our salary cap declaration would or could be 100% accurate at 100k if sorted properly
Anything can be brokered if done correctly ?! Or am I being too shady
Even when players go on loan, regardless of who actually pays what proportion, the player’s whole salary is counted towards the cap of the team he is registered to and plays for.
This is true even if the parent club pays 100% of the player’s salary. For example, when Matty Smith joined Warrington, his salary could have been wholly paid by Catalans but would have counted on Warrington’s cap for the time he was with them.
If a player is paid off by his club though, that comes from their Salary cap. There was quite a hoo-ha when Souths paid off Inglis, as they got that discounted from the cap, whilst other clubs who have paid up on players’ contracts have had to include that payment in their salary cap. The same happened when Warrington paid off Chris Hicks - they thought that payment wouldn’t count on the cap but then had to cut their cloth accordingly when they were told it did!
It’s a murky world.
Mind you, the rules change so often this could no longer be the case!

Re: Josh Dugan
I'm presuming dollars because he's now got an aussie agent and his salary was classed as low for a first team regular. His stock couldn't be higher at the moment as nrl second rower of the year.

He won't be on that figure for much longer. Is agent is already looking to get him a more improved contract and even said that it could be away from Canberra if needed. Believe Bateman is doing what is best to support his daughter.

Yes, he has to especially as there is little loyalty in the nrl because of the back ending of their contracts.

Re: Josh Dugan
I have a feeling Dugan will end up at Toronto. A super League switch is his best option at minute and Toronto management have said they want a big name player. If Sonny Bill Williams rejects them they might take Dugan
