Sosaia Feki
Cas are reported to be keen but there is doubt over whether we have space in the cap for a player of his calibre. Could this be why we have offloaded Minikin and Clark?
Re: Sosaia Feki
Doesn't cap go up 100k this year?
So far out
Minikin
Clark
Also likely
Gill
Egodu
Aston
Maher
Ins
Olpherts
Griffin
Hepi
I'd expect the outs to cover the ins wages and leave us some extra cap space.
So we should have 100-120k min plus anyone else who leaves (Ellis possibly).

There are a few who have one year left and might be told they can leave if they can find a longer deal elsewhere too.

The first 175k of his salary would still count on the cap.Tamworth Tiger wrote:Could we use the Marquee option?

Re: Sosaia Feki
Well I haven't looked into what people have come and gone for but I would assume that Olpherts is cheaper than Minikin and Hepi is cheaper than Clark but it really depends what Griffin agrees as we haven't actually signed him yet it is just talksKB80 wrote:Doesn't cap go up 100k this year?

Re: Sosaia Feki
According to League Express he has signed with us. Done deal.
Re: Sosaia Feki
Need a centre now as well we will only have Blair and Shenton.
Would love to get Evalds as well for FB

Is Evalds on the cards? If so you get both your wishes as Peanut would be backup Centre / FB.

Re: Sosaia Feki
Not sure where this has come from. We were supposedly interested when Evalds was out-of-favour (playing on the wing if he was lucky) and Gareth O’Brien was playing at full-back for Salford.Shameless wrote:Is Evalds on the cards? If so you get both your wishes as Peanut would be backup Centre / FB.
Since then O’Brien has moved to Toronto, Evalds has taken the full-back spot and has recently signed a long term contract.

Re: Sosaia Feki
Evalds has had the chance to leave a few times but each time staying. He appears to be part of their crown jewels who they won't let go. Personally, I'd say Hastings and lui are much more important but it looks like they are off. Sounds like money troubles again, might be worth a cheeky bid.

Castleford, who are also close to confirming a deal for Cronulla winger Sosaia Feki, while Hull KR, Wakefield and Toulouse may also make bids.
It doesn’t look cut and dry just yet, with 3 more clubs possibly making bids.

Re: Sosaia Feki
Castleford Tigers have completed the signing of Cronulla Sharks winger Sosaia Feki on a three year deal, report League Express.
The tigers were in discussions with the Sharks winger last week but League Express reports that a deal has now been reached for the Tonga International ahead of the 2020 season. It's believed the Tigers were also interested in Mahe Fonua, but he has joined Hull FC.

Cue the "why don't we go for better players if there only being chased by the bottom teams".old cas lass wrote:Castleford, who are also close to confirming a deal for Cronulla winger Sosaia Feki, while Hull KR, Wakefield and Toulouse may also make bids.

Personally, he's an nrl grand final winner. Must be doing something right.

Might be because the top teams already have a decent set of wingers:mart0042 wrote:Cue the "why don't we go for better players if there only being chased by the bottom teams".old cas lass wrote:Castleford, who are also close to confirming a deal for Cronulla winger Sosaia Feki, while Hull KR, Wakefield and Toulouse may also make bids.

Re: Sosaia Feki
You've misread the article incorrectly I think. Is that taken from seriousaboutrl? If so, they were talking about the players before (Copley and Brenko Lee).old cas lass wrote:Castleford, who are also close to confirming a deal for Cronulla winger Sosaia Feki, while Hull KR, Wakefield and Toulouse may also make bids.

Full para below:
With Kallum Watkins making the move to Gold Coast, the Titans are looking to offload two of their own outside backs to accommodate him. Experienced centre Dale Copley and former Canberra winger Brenko Lee are believed to be the outgoing duo, with Super League moves potentially on the cards.
Both will likely garner interest from Castleford, who are also close to confirming a deal for Cronulla winger Sosaia Feki, while Hull KR, Wakefield and Toulouse may also make bids. As for the Rhinos, their newly freed cap space will be used to invest in a new halfback, with teenage prodigy Harry Newman stepping into the captain’s shoes.
