Chris Clarkson has more GF winners medals than the rest of our squad. Does that make him the better than others???

When he was about 18-19 playing in the forwards, don't forget.

But you need to compare “apples with apples”. You can’t compare someone whose been at a SL club for about 5 years. Compare him to someone at the club whose played a similar amount of SL games then judge if he’s an improvement or not.

Grew up here, went back to NZ to play in their junior set up. Joined KR when he was 19 but you don’t count on the overseas list if you complete 3 years before the age of 21 in the UK. He left KR when he was 21 and played for Wyong Roos in Aus again.

In that instance, I’d imagine he does count on the overseas quota as he only played 1-2 years in this country before 21.

There are a number of strong players being released by nrl clubs as they look to make big signings for next season to have a quota spot free is important to then use it on a player playing in the championship would be folly
But we have done that before so I can't say I would be surprised if we do it again

I agree in principle but cap space must be a factor too. We will need to pay big bucks for the sort of players we would want.
You would hope that the club has done the sums and worked out what we can afford before wasting the spaces.

Tbh he's a fiery little bugger like his dad I wouldn't mind him in the squad at all but not if he's using a quota space

Then the attendances will fall, we’ll then be in a rut, a catch 22. Were we can’t afford decent players cos we don’t have decent attendances.
But who’s fault is that.

hope this is way off the mark.if not then our shocking recruitment from last year(or lack off)will look like genius.we are looking at absolute bang average players and I've yet to hear us linked with anyone who might actually IMPROVE us.

This concerns me too, the current board haven't learnt from the last time this started to happen.

Can't say i've seen much of him, he's built well enough and experienced for his age, the step up would be an unknown but players like Foster and Minikin (to an extent) have shown they can step up and compete at this level, could be worth the 'punt'

But we're spending up to the full salary cap every year it was suggested yesterday we would have also have made a marquee signing but Powell dosnt believe in them I can blame the BOD at cas for a few things but if were spending the full salary cap and the teams not good enough that's down to Powell or Wells or a combination of both

Recruitment isn't putting bums on seats, also, the outs are better than the ins - we aren't pushing on. I do agree with DP the marquee rule is crap and I hope we don't use it.
