Re: Joe Westerman
the clip where he put his kneecap back in place whilst on the pitch would worry me as radders says it happens every 2 or 3 weeks.

Re: Joe Westerman
I'd take Joe back in a heartbeat.
You can't buy local heart.
I still think there's plenty of scope for comings and goings in the off season, although at the hub of several moves could be Luke Gale.
If he goes, I can see us bringing in 3, including perhaps Joe....

Re: Joe Westerman
A fit, confident westerman, who understands that he needs to buckle down, would be a great asset.
I'm always in favour of local lads rejoining, especially when we are so reliant on overseas players.

Re: Joe Westerman
Didn't we enquire about Westerman when he left Hull for Toronto but decided to chase the cash?
Re: Joe Westerman
Westy would be great next year if he came to Cas

I don't know what happened, didn't think we were in for him then or when he returned. We had more pressing needs.heritage1926 wrote: ↑18 Sep 2019, 10:17 Didn't we enquire about Westerman when he left Hull for Toronto but decided to chase the cash?

Re: Joe Westerman
Joe went to Toronto from Warrington and I don't think we were ever in the hunt for him at that stage.mart0042 wrote: ↑18 Sep 2019, 13:14I don't know what happened, didn't think we were in for him then or when he returned. So are we in for Joe or not? I'd take him.

Re: Joe Westerman
I don’t think this is relevant anymore. Without the home town emotions..... journeyman forward looking for a fourth club in 3 years answers the question in my opinion.
I’m no expert but there are 4 SL coaches who thought maybe, then maybe not. End of conversation.
If he was 22 there is scope to be surprised but he isn’t and non-emotionally.... there isn’t.

Re: Joe Westerman
I'll say again without the home town emotion - 4 coaches in 3 years moved him on, not because they're all idiots.
Will be a favourite elsewhere for getting stuck in and putting his hand up, but that is not top 4/5 quality I am afraid.
Possibly a case of where the talent, fitness and motivation rarely landed together, often there was 2 of the 3 on show.
Re: Joe Westerman
Confirmed going to wakey
Re: Joe Westerman
He'll go alright for us.

Re: Joe Westerman
not being funny jinj mate but what do you mean by alright?
it seems the loyal wakey fans have slipped into the "he'll do alright mode" which for me means you are willing to accept mediocrity and avoiding relegation as success.
i know all the excuses/reasons that MC makes for only spending what you can afford but it was noticeable late in the season that he splashed the cash on signings to keep you up. i just wonder where you would have finished if he had spent the cash earlier.
anyway good luck for next year with tj back plus all the other absentee's

It's a Wakefield thing Lurcher, we got giddy up till our horrific injuries then ended the season panicking!
Regarding the alright bit, I can't imagine he'll get back to his Cas form but think he'll do a good job for us. I'm a pessimist ok?

Re: Joe Westerman
At 18, everyone said he was the next Paul Sculthorpe/Andy Farrell and would be captaining his country in years to come. I don't blame him for leaving us when he did, we were in an absolute mess and he was in demand, but going to Hull seemed to suck all the rugby and natural talent out of him, as well as a fruitful social life that was never tamed.
