Heard we are close to signing Ethan Ryan . Been interested in him a while and I bet you can’t guess who his agent is

Re: Ethan ryan
Is he honestly better than what we have with Minikin, Gill, Egodo, Clare?Tigersbarmy wrote:Heard we are close to signing Ethan Ryan . Been interested in him a while and I bet you can’t guess who his agent is
He can finish, at Championship level, from his highlight reel. But he doesn't look lightning quick. In fact, he seems quite ordinary in that regard. Stats say 6'2 but on film he doesn't look physically big. Suppose he is young and can develop. Will be cheaper than Minikin but surely no cheaper than Egodo or Gill.
Re: Ethan ryan
22 years of age already in a different league to Clare and Gill.
Loads of clubs have been after him for a while.

Re: Ethan ryan
to be fair theres loads of wingers of that stature in the lower leagues where its much easier. very few step up.
theres been lots of times i'v'e wished we'de kept hold of promising youngsters but they've done nothing after leaving.

Look at Minikin. Was coveted in 2017 when we were exceptional as a team and he had Webbo inside him. But now. 2 years on, admittedly a serious injury but he is nowhere near where I thought he'd be. He doesn't have genuine pace. He doesn't have the size and power and on top of that is struggling with technique and confidence.
A winger needs either size and power or explosive speed for them to be worth investing in.
Re: Ethan ryan
That’s because Minikin is not a natural winger. If we get Ethan Ryan that is a good signing, a lot of super league clubs have been wanting him over the years but he’s always stayed loyal to Bradford. I don’t know what will have changed his mind this time though if he does come.

How do you know he is better than Gill when he hardly gets a chance ?. Liked what I've seen of him when he has played. Better than Clare.
Wingers we have are
Eden
Clare
Gill
So maybe another for cover?

Just watched his highlights on You Tube. Doesn't look blessed with raw pace. I'd put him in the same bucket as James Clare who may even look a better player than Ethan in the Championship.

Re: Ethan ryan
New one to me is this one, but who knows if it's a cash plus Clare going the other way offer? he's a fan favourite is Clare at Bradford from his time there previously.
Re: Ethan ryan
After Bradfords last meltdown i put on here that Ethan Ryan should be someone we look at signing. Excellent young prospect at the time. Not seen much of him since but i’d have expected him to improve under John Kear. Definitely worth a punt.

Re: Ethan ryan
Looks a good winger does Ethan, he definitely can finish a try for sure. The championship has some pretty decent wingers and he’s up there with the best in that league. You can’t really compare him to Clare until he’s played a super league game but definitely worth going for imo. This could be a good bit of business especially if he was to play on the right wing next to our new recruit Cheyse Blair.
Re: Ethan ryan
Don’t know much about Ethan Ryan but I’ve never seen anything in Gill be it academy, championship or his couple of 1st team appearances in super League that makes me think he will make it.reminds me of a backs version of will maher keeps getting signed up but then loaned out as not good enough.hope I’m wrong and he comes good but just don’t see itfords wrote:Mucky1978 wrote:22 years of age already in a different league to Clare and Gill.

I don’t think Ryan is the fastest but his finishing is brilliant also looks like he’s got a decent read on him in the defensive line
