Ben Cockayne

Hull KR are keen to keep Ben Cockayne according to the League Weekly. Justin Morgan is quoted as saying they really want to keep him, are talking to him and are hopeful of a good outcome.
What are our chances of signing him?

I'd say our chances are still good. The club are releasing that for fans benefit only. He is obviously a favorite over there and dont want to be seen as giving up without a fight!

My info is that he's signed up subject to the decision on his court case.

It will take an awful lot to change his mind -- He has agreed a good deal with cas and is dead set on coming here for next year

I should have phrased it differently

Thats why were SIGNING Ben Cockayne - As everyone is aware a deal cant be signed until September 1st

We've agreed a contract Ben. I don't know why HKR would suddenly increase their offer. (which btw was appalling for a player like Ben) They might have done though.

There could be a number of reason Beth - All i can say is the offer really wasnt too bad from KR, Its similar to what he is currently on and we have gone and bettered it by about 10k per year --- There is no way Ben is worth much more than that and if KR bump up his offer - And he comes back to us for more money - We should tell him where to go

As it is i think he will tell KR he isnt interested due to the slightly low offer and the fact he wants to play for Cas

I know Ben will be here next season.

I am looking forward to seeing him with the 1 shirt on.

And for first time in god knows how many years we have a natural FB!

I would like to say a massive thanks to Stuey Donlan though, he's been once again consistent this year and has been safe all season!

He's a true proffesional and always plays for the team.

I wish we could get a few more like Donlan who aren' just in it for the money but because they generally love RUGBY!

I hope whatever he does after Cas he suceeds well!

It WAS bad. Believe me. It's lower than what he was on this year. I know your all clued up on almost everything to do with Cas

- but just trust me on this one.

I know they offered him a reduced contract - Which is bad - By any amount - But he isnt worth anymore than Cas have offered him

If he comes he comes, if he doesn't he doesn't. End of the day if Donlan leaves then I expect a good FB to come in to replace him. Now Cockayne is getting a game whilst Briscoe is out but when he's fit who's HKR FB. If Cas are offering him the #1 shirt then he knows he's our first choice fullback.
