New players??
We linked with any players for next season or even this current one, we look short on bodies everywhere on the field and need new blood ASAP.

Hopefully we’ll have rid of all the old and injury men.
Fresh young face in with O’Neill and hepi hopefully being in the team regularly .
It’s obvious we have to change the mind set, today we seemed mentally weak.
Let’s hope we announce some new players sooner rather than later.

Re: New players??
We need some forwards for next year that can have an impact we are far too soft in the middle, we need some more pace in the backs. Evalds will bring some pace and skill but if true about sutcliffe he’s an ok utility but doesn’t bring too much to the squad apart from back up
Re: New players??
I guess another factor to consider is when you consider signing a player what rules do you look at for next season. Are scrums back, 6 again here to stay, limits on subs etc.
Players like Millington may (just) get by under old rules this season but way out on the new settings as are many both here and at other clubs.

Toe toe with Wigan, St's n Warrington. Fatigued players today only catalans have hammered us and they'd played the week before... So tell me how bad we've been then?Oldcasman wrote: ↑13 Sep 2020, 18:08Wonder if he is regretting it after seeing how bad we have been since the restart.old cas lass wrote: ↑13 Sep 2020, 18:03Only definite one as been announced.MrRugby123 wrote: ↑13 Sep 2020, 18:02 We linked with any players for next season or even this current one, we look short on bodies everywhere on the field and need new blood ASAP.

Re: New players??
I don’t think we’ll see many new faces in 2021. Who is out there and available? Barely anyone.
Some of the players mentioned have contracts at Cas for 2021 and beyond - who is going to want them?
“We need a centre to replace Shenton” is easy to say - but when Shenton has a contract and there aren’t many other options out there, it’s suddenly doesn’t seem as simple as that. I’d love to see us bring in Tony Gigot at left centre, but where is that money coming from if Shenton stays?
Rumour is that Liam Marshall is unsettled at Catalans - we could get him on board and that would be better than Eden/Clare. But again, we’ve got the problem of Feki - who would want him and why would he leave?

Got my Wigan home-grown players mixed up. Kind of sums it up when they have Burgess, Manfredi, Marshall and Davis so had to let one go, whilst we persist with James Clare.

Salford fans seem to think they have signed Joe Burgess also.

Re: New players??
A player id be aiming to sign would be kelepi Tanginoa from Wakefield, everytime I see him play he’s outstanding and would add much needed aggression to our pack.

He must really be regretting it coming to cas where we've taken 2 points off saints and Wigan and lost to wire by one and 2 points.Oldcasman wrote: ↑13 Sep 2020, 18:08Wonder if he is regretting it after seeing how bad we have been since the restart.old cas lass wrote: ↑13 Sep 2020, 18:03Only definite one as been announced.MrRugby123 wrote: ↑13 Sep 2020, 18:02 We linked with any players for next season or even this current one, we look short on bodies everywhere on the field and need new blood ASAP.
That Niall evalds.
Especially when Salford have won 2 games all season. Their form is hardly blistering.

Wasn’t Evalds on the losing side against Cas recently as well?mart0042 wrote: ↑18 Sep 2020, 10:05He must really be regretting it coming to cas where we've taken 2 points off saints and Wigan and lost to wire by one and 2 points.Oldcasman wrote: ↑13 Sep 2020, 18:08Wonder if he is regretting it after seeing how bad we have been since the restart.old cas lass wrote: ↑13 Sep 2020, 18:03Only definite one as been announced.MrRugby123 wrote: ↑13 Sep 2020, 18:02 We linked with any players for next season or even this current one, we look short on bodies everywhere on the field and need new blood ASAP.

Anyone think O’Brien could do something as a 13?

Re: New players??
Not sure he has the stamina for that, or the size.
Goes to show how well he has done that we all want him to stay though. I wondered if he could play at 9, but again I’m not sure he has the defensive ability for it.
I hope he stays. Can he play on the wing and cover at full-back/half-back if needed?
