I'd be looking to keep him providing he isn't asking fo a signifcant pay rise.
As for the overall position with the back row, if Meeks goes we need a suitable replacement to compliemnt what we'd still have but not one that can slip in at prop if required. Out-and-out back rower with a bit of pace, if such a gem exists these days?

Re: McMeekan
I disagree, Blair has only very recently been converted to the back row and although he may prove to be a gem as a result of another DP masterstroke, I haven’t seen anything (yet) to suggest that he could match or surpass McMeekin’s 2017 form.CHTiger wrote: ↑03 Jun 2020, 18:25What about Blair? I would have him over McMeekan, Holmes and JSL on this seasons form. I think JSL is the worst out of the 4 and he is very sloworrsome wrote: ↑03 Jun 2020, 11:42 IMO our best 2nd rowers are Mike and JSL, both of whom have been rumoured to be leaving. If we lose both it will leave us substantially weaker with only the injury prone current candidates to step in and we will have gone from an embarrassment of riches to a relatively precarious situation in 2021.
Time for DP to unearth another gem?
Holmes is a good player, but again IMO not as good as Mike McM, and he’s quite injury prone too.
I see JSL as an impact player, however is rumoured To be leaving at the end of this season. I hope not as I can’t remember a more popular player who can lift other players when he gets on the pitch.
I reckon the challenge is to get Mike back to his 2017 form as he’s got all the attributes to be one of the best back rowers we’ve seen At Cas for quite a while and potentially a future England International squad member.

Re: McMeekan
i'd agree with that especially as he's had so little time to adapt.Fumper27 wrote: ↑03 Jun 2020, 20:25My opinion is that Cheyse Blair has been our outstanding back row forward so far this season.nottinghamtiger wrote: ↑03 Jun 2020, 18:53George Griffin was better in 2019 than any of the back-rowers we had playing for us. I’d say that is also the case in the games so far in 2020 - I think he’s been our best back-rower to date.orrsome wrote: ↑03 Jun 2020, 11:42 IMO our best 2nd rowers are Mike and JSL, both of whom have been rumoured to be leaving. If those are the announcements I’d do Ashworth and McMeekan before Evalds
