Re: [Signing] Alex Sutcliffe confirmed
Looks like he's coming in to play back row
Comments from Sutcliffe;
Comments from Sutcliffe;
Comments from RadfordLee Radford will take over as Tigers coach in pre-season and Sutcliffe is relishing working with the former Hull and Bradford Bulls player.
“I can’t wait for him to take me under his wing and make me a physically tough player,” Sutcliffe said.
“Personally, I prefer the second-row position because you are more involved and more in the nitty gritty stuff.
“I don’t mind a bit of physicality, I pride my game on it, especially in my defence, but I don’t mind playing either centre or back-row.”
The addition of Alex Sutcliffe is another strong member of Lee Radford’s squad for the 2022 season, and the Fords’ new Head Coach declared how thrilled he was to be able to secure a player with a potentially big future ahead of him.
“I’m surprised we had the opportunity to pick Alex up, he is a fantastic young player that can flip between second row and centre, but I would love for him to nail down a second-row spot.
“I think he has all the physical attributes and the skillset to be able to play there. If you go at him, he’ll whack you because he’s got a shot on him as well.
“I am over the moon to have secured his services because there is a long-term future for him at Castleford Tigers.”

Good signing and from his statement he wants to put it all on the line anyone wanting the 'nitty gritty' and to be involved will get my support regardless.
Welcome aboard Alex.

And Radford saying he's surprised we've managed to get him says a lot about his opinion of him. This is what we need, people passionate to do a job, not people phoning it inA_can't_speak wrote: ↑21 Sep 2021, 19:04 Good signing and from his statement he wants to put it all on the line anyone wanting the 'nitty gritty' and to be involved will get my support regardless.

Back row shaping up nicely with him, Edwards, Lawler, Westerman and Milner. I'm guessing Massey may end up back at prop.

Re: [Signing] Alex Sutcliffe confirmed
Well on the team sheet he shows as a 13 most weeks but is obviously used as a 3rd prop. Where as Westerman will be a proper 13 for a change.
Re: [Signing] Alex Sutcliffe confirmed
fingers crossed Trueman will be fit to play next season, a good half back should be able to poach a good number of trys off the ball playing forwards we have signed
Re: [Signing] Alex Sutcliffe confirmed
Massey plays like a lot of 13s do nowadays as a extra middle he's not what I would describe as a prop forward

i must admit i dont know enough about Alex a lot of you seem to think the lad is a top signing i hope you are right
Re: [Signing] Alex Sutcliffe confirmed
Really good signing.
Hits really hard in defence and has good pace for a backrowerer. Plenty of Leeds fans think the club have made a mistake not keeping him.
Looking forward to seeing how he goes next season.

Good signing and the right age to grow and learn. Nice that there's a 2 year option attached. I would ideally sign players all like that to give us the choice to kick or keep.
The direct opposite of Huddersfields recruitment, which is put them on long contracts and then when you want them out, loan them out and have to contribute to their wages. Surely the dumbest way to use your money.

We have it's just not announced. I was actually talking the other day to a relative of Lawler who said he was headed to Cas

There's usually a few months gap between Matt Shaw putting it in the internet and us announcing it...
