Re: [Match Discussion] Wembley week
Not been his biggest fan the last few seasons, but would love to see Shenton bow out with a cup win on Saturday, the very least he deserves IMO.
Re: [Match Discussion] Wembley week

Also says they’re fully booked as well so, if you booked in, don’t miss your spotGomersal Tiger wrote: ↑13 Jul 2021, 15:52 Look forward to joining you all. Just had email from White Horse saying they will only hold the table for 15 minutes and they will not be responding to email or phone calls on the day. Get there early.

Re: [Match Discussion] Wembley week
Wembley thoughts...
Worries:
1. A month without the final team playing together and potential lack of match sharpness and fitness issues.
2. Combined with red hot weather forecast and a massive Wembley pitch.
3. Key players coming back from injuries- GOB, Trueman, Millo (Watts and Evalds too). If either half back doesn't make it through the game our chances reduce big time. Really don't want to see Clare on bench in a just-in-case-scenario.
4. Our lack of pace on that pitch vs their speed merchants.
5. Our history with big game stage fright under Powell. And can we unlock that defence
which has shut us down before?
Positives:
1. That cup run has had a great vibe. The way things have fallen, it has very much had a feeling of name-on-the-cup kind of destiny to it.
2. Powell almost has his full squad available (only Eden and Feki missing). Selection headaches are a rare thing for us.
3. Holmes, Matautia, Shenton, Millo (maybe Jesse) and Powell all on Swan songs. Legacy on the line which gives us a different complexion than Saints.
4. Everyone has completely written us off before a ball has been kicked. We are on the back of a hiding at home (just like before the semi). And the record of teams winning after conceding 60+ in a previous game is unusually high.
5. These are not the Saints of old. Yes a top 2 side in our league but not what they once were. We have won as underdogs before. This will be all guns blazing. One off game. Owt could happen.
What do you lot think? Fears? Hopes? Sneaky feelings?

Re: [Match Discussion] Wembley week
I think we'll come out all fired up and score a few tries (like we did in the semi) only to run out of steam n eventually lose to a fitter more experienced sts side.
My worst fear is we let them take the lead early n never really look like getting into the game.

Need to not stand off in defence. Up and into them, close down space and time. Warrington showed the way a few weeks ago.

God I hope you are only partly right
Re: [Match Discussion] Wembley week
Can only see this going two ways, one we win by 1 to 6 points or else it's a knightmare saints by 30+ i'm afraid. Praying to see us beat saints away (know it's neutral but still not our ground so i'll count it as away) and wish we had a 100% fit eden as with big pitch feel we need some added pace and can trust him more now we have evalds at back

Re: [Match Discussion] Wembley week
Regarding lateral flow tests, do we have to take the negative test along with us, or will an email/text showing negative suffice?
Re: [Match Discussion] Wembley week
You have to submit the result on the NHS APP so that it is recorded as such.heritage1926 wrote: ↑14 Jul 2021, 10:54 Regarding lateral flow tests, do we have to take the negative test along with us, or will an email/text showing negative suffice?

Greg looked in good shape to me before kick off on Sunday he was running up and down the touchline for about 30 minutes before kick off with one of the coaching staff timing his efforts...68tiger wrote: ↑13 Jul 2021, 20:56 Can only see this going two ways, one we win by 1 to 6 points or else it's a knightmare saints by 30+ i'm afraid. The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have

I thought so, but saw St Helens fans arguing that you had to take the actual test with you. Thanks for the clarity Fumper.Fumper27 wrote: ↑14 Jul 2021, 11:04You have to submit the result on the NHS APP so that it is recorded as such.heritage1926 wrote: ↑14 Jul 2021, 10:54 Regarding lateral flow tests, do we have to take the negative test along with us, or will an email/text showing negative suffice?

Eden will be on the bench I reckon.
With doubts over Trueman leaves Turner to move to stand off and Eden onto the wing.

Looks like we are wearing the home black strip. Cas put a picture of it on Instagram.

I'm gutted to not be able to go this time but even so, the excitement is building.
