Sweet Caroline

Post by tallguyx » 11 Jul 2021, 19:48

Is it time to ditch it? Next week if we win and we play “our” song I’m sure that it will be mentioned that it’s England’s win or lose tonight.

Not at all. Not sure if it was a report on Sky or BBC about the song and we got named as a team who’ve “adopted” it

I thought that by playing it before the kick off it set the wrong tone for tonight's disappointing showing in the final. Created the wrong atmosphere before a massive game.

I think we keep it - but only play it when we win.

I vote to change it.

The impending change of era would be a good time to change the song - to what song, however, is a different question...

Keep it, it's our song. Leeds United fans aren't happy with the Rhinos singing Marching on Together, Mind you, that lot will pinch owt.

No it’s not, in fact we were late comers in terms of using this hackneyed dirge. I’d like to see it ditched.

I’d change the words slightly to “Sweet Castleford”.

Two suggestions from the 60’s. “I can’t get no satisfaction” the Stones, “ Substitute” the Who. Just about sums up the current mood.

I think we did have it first in the uk,but now people don’t hear it and think Castleford. They think England,William Hill, Boxing etc.

I always liked when we sang D.I.S.C.O in the mid 2000s. As a idea for a new song I remember a few years ago someone suggested the Clash Rock the Casbah (cas bar).

At moment don't know if we will here caroline down lane so could we please just hear it once at wembley after game NOT before, would choose this than hear it down lane rest of season (bar wakey game can't give them anything) then we can regroup for next season. Praying for win then family don't have to hear me recall the memories of the old wembley of 86 what a weekend that was mad dance after london weekend to get back to civic centre for homecoming and then the wait to get photos developed, they don't know there born today with smart phones

A song to get you going before the game, along with welcome to the jungle, is motley crue's kickstart my heart. Go listen to it and you'll see what I mean.
what doesn't kill me simply makes me...stranger.
