If Salford get Wigan to help these bans will be avoided just in time to play us.

I am sure a Wigan player earlier this season had a 2 match ban and didn't miss a game as games scheduled during lockdown were included and back dated effectively meaning no ban was served......or something very similar.

We know the RFL are not consistent in these issues so lets see what happens.

I was hoping it was going to be moved especially now Hudds is off.

Anyone know if the club are looking at this?

Needs moving, if only to cover for potential head-knocks for Wembley.

For that reason alone it would make sense to move it

St Helens asked trinity to move their game from the Sunday to Friday, to give an extra two days recovery time should any of their players have an HIA test. So yes, Castleford should do the same. Good luck

only players who have had the longest lay off time should be risked against Salford rest of the team made up of fringe and under 19s

If you put out a weakened team any first team players will finish up having to work harder to cover for less experienced players better to put out a full strength team and try to win game quickly and be able to spell players later on in the match like England Ukraine game

How do we prepare for the biggest game for 4 years. I know, let's do rock all and go in freezing cold.

Don't think so.

Injuries are part and parcel of the game so if you want to avoid them, don't take part. Otherwise, get on with it and earn your crust.

For what it’s worth these are the facts as Cas approached their previous Wembley finals in my lifetime:-

1969 In those days the Championship Final Semi-Final was played 7 days before the Challenge Cup Final and Cas played their strongest team available for both matches. Beat Saints 18-6 away, then Salford 11-6 at Wembley and followed that 7 days later losing at Odsal 14-16 against Leeds in Championship Final.

1970 The same format but only drew 9-9 at home to Saints in the Championship Semi-Final, but were made to play a replay at Knowlesy Road only 2 days later so chose to rest all of their Challenge Cup Final side yet led 10-8 at half time but eventually lost only 12-21, and 5 days later beat Wigan 7-2 at Wembley.

1973 Fielded their strongest available team at Hull in a League match 6 days before a Cup Semifinal at Headingley against Featherstone. Beat Hull 12-11, but lost 3-17 against Featherstone.

1985 Drew 10-10 at Headingley against Hull in Cup Semifinal. Two days later lost at home to Halifax 20-30 in a League match but rested their entire first team squad as the Cup replay at Headingley took place only 4 days after the drawn match and lost 16-22.

1986 Cas beat Salford 30-16 at home in a League match fielding their proposed Wembley line-up excepting their two Australian players Jamie Sandy and Ian French who were flew over a few days before the Wembley Final. Cas also brought forward their final league match of the season at home to Widnes five days so that they could rest half of their Wembley team. So in fact half of that Wembley team had not played for 13 days, but Cas still beat Hull KR 15-14.

1992 Cas selected their strongest team at home to Wakefield in the first round of the playoffs and won 28-18, but six days later with almost the same team lost to Wigan at Wembley 12-28 and a week later also lost away to Saints 14-30 in the Semifinal playoff.

And finally in 2014 Cas rested most of their Wembley line-up against Warrington away in a 10-48 defeat eight days before the Cup Final against Leeds which of course they lost 10-23.

So generally speaking Cas tend to rest most of their star players before important games as they also did at home to Hull FC in 2017 in the match preceding the Semifinal playoff win against Saints. However as several players have hardly played since this year’s Semifinal win against Warrington, maybe Cas need to use several first teamers against Salford next Saturday. I understand the reasons for protecting the players, but with most of our squad not having played together for several weeks maybe Cas should select their strongest side for the first half and hopefully score enough points to be able to rest them in the second half.
