Next Two Games
Given Saints don’t have a game this week, how come none of the following are playing for the all stars - Paasi, Mata'utia, Paasi, Fages, Naiqama, Coote, Grace, LMS, Thompson, now Walmsley has pulled out of the England squad. Bet they all play next week, so we will be up against a refreshed full strength squad.
We have Catalans tonight who aIso didn’t play last week, so will be fresh and they are not providing players to the all stars.
Seems that we are getting a rough deal, why have we not taken the stance that the so called bigger clubs have - no words ….

Re: Next Two Games
Saints are looking after their players correctly, we arent.
With wembley on the horizon we should withdraw our players and wrap em in cotton wool Macca especially.
Sods law at least one of them comes back lame

You would do that and deny McShane his international debut?the changeling wrote: ↑24 Jun 2021, 13:05 Saints are looking after their players correctly, we arent.

Re: Next Two Games
They cannot possibly count this farce as a full international game, can they?
Its a training run out, why not play Wales or Scotland if they wanted a proper international game?
And yes i would do that for a cup win, wouldnt you?
Re: Next Two Games
I disagree. Pulling on a RL shirt to represent my country was one of the best moments in my life. I would not deny anyone the opportunity to experience those feelings.Mucky1978 wrote: ↑24 Jun 2021, 13:14I would. Where is the proof that Macca playing tomorrow will stop us winning the cup 22 days after?the changeling wrote: ↑24 Jun 2021, 13:14They cannot possibly count this farce as a full international game, can they?

Yes, he may get injured tomorrow night but he may get injured playing for us between now and then.

Re: Next Two Games
A little bit of a daft question there but you knew that. [-X
We see comments about the club not looking after the players welfare correctly and even some about Macca carrying an injury, dont you think Castleford would be better served if we looked after our assets in the same way that St Helens obviously are?
Any other year there would not be an issue with this nowt game and whoever played in it, but this is a wembley year and the club should focus on having the players fit and ready for the final. In my opinion that care would not include playing in a training game for England.
Macca would have got his debut without this farce.

You ask a daft question, you get a daft answer!! It’s about as daft as linking Macca not playing for England tomorrow with our chances of winning the final.the changeling wrote: ↑24 Jun 2021, 13:31A little bit of a daft question there but you knew that. [-X

Should of pulled other 2 out as well.
Madness by the club and Powell to let this happen when we have a final in 3 weeks.

Re: Next Two Games
Powell does right by his players. McShane has been left out of England when arguably he has deserved it. This may be his only chance to impress and play. In the same way he could get injured tomorrow, he could get injured after the cup final and not be able to play in the WC, he could suffer a serious injury and miss out on playing for his country altogether.
Life is top short. Yes I'd like our players fit for Wembley but a good man manager also recognises when someone deserves something and has what could be a once in a life time opportunity.

I have no issue at players being released to play for England and Macca deserves it more than most. I do, however, have an issue releasing players for the Exiles team when we have so many injuries.

Not fan putting all us eggs in one basket alot off people seem content just getting to challenge cup final at cost off rest off season.Fumper27 wrote: ↑24 Jun 2021, 13:45You ask a daft question, you get a daft answer!! This international as cost us any chance off top six for sure can see us maybe winning one more game probaly Salford before challenge cup and if we get fumped in final moral will be that low we will be third from bottom off league and season over. Maca should get is chance international for sure cas and chance not to play the loop game this week but decided to play it are own fault really if get another embarrassing score toneet against us.

Re: Next Two Games
I guess it might be in the contracts of the players to let them play if requested, however club comes first and being so close to Wembley we should be taking care. Just like saints and letting only 2 players it for the international is wise.the changeling wrote: ↑24 Jun 2021, 13:05 Saints are looking after their players correctly, we arent.
