Shenton had a great game last night.
Jaques Oneil was average, not too keen on him as a dummy half. His agression suits lòose forward more.
Forwards need to match teams like Hull missed Matagi last night

Been very good this year and had another good game. Shows that form is temporary class is permanent.

Great in defence, too slow in attack though.

Thought he did a great job protecting young QareQare defensively, made some high risk calls in defence to stop him getting isolated against the big Hull outside backs. (Not that QareQare didn't handle himself well when called upon)

You can certainly see the difference when he’s not there!

Personally would like to have seen shenton/millington been offered roles within coaching at club for next season but keeping open playing contract too so if we end up with injuries or need to rest players could then have run out. Both show total professional behaviour off field never see bad news around them and we need role models like these to work with younger players and keep them grounded as they come through

Michael Shenton was one of the nicest kids I ever taught and coached at schoolboy level. He never had any edge to his conduct, he listened, had no ego or superiority complex as many future stars had…and I always thought he would choose soccer! A role model for anyone.

He’s 50%+ better than the last 2yrs.
Don’t think that can be denied.
Still a lot of season to play.
He needs to keep his form up though.

As it stands Shenton is out of contract; no news on retirement/release/renew

Thursday could well be his last at WR (and for club) but no official confirmation either way.

Hope we get some clarification either way before game.

Without official announcement, he has already made it clear this year will be his last.

If I was him I would be away, owing to some of the comments on this forum which verge on abuse. This, after years of devotion and stand-out performances, to see that he’s “utter garbage” must be a kick in the teeth.
When he goes, he goes with my admiration. I’ve known him from the age of 10, and he’s a role model for all athletes.

I’d like him to stay at the club in some capacity.
But let’s be honest the last 2 seasons he as shown his age.
He’s been a great servant for the club.
