“Powelly [Daryl Powell] had spoken to me and said he was keen to take me over with him. I’ve been coached by him for the last seven years, we’ve got a great relationship and I think he’s a fantastic coach. I’ll be good to continue that partnership over at Warrington.
Surely this constitutes gross misconduct by Daryl, technically working for Warrington whilst employed by us?
Hardly .
Why not
If one of my employees who’d resigned started working for their new employers before they left, I’d class it as gross misconduct.

If it was after 1st May nothing wrong cos Holmes is out off contract.
But if it was before that date, which my old cynical self believe it would have been then that’s different.
How do you prove it.

An honest, and straight forward statement from Holmes, move on.

Except the camp was allegedly upset because Hoggy didn’t want to go!

“Warrington is such a big club”.
No, it’s really not. It’s just with a money-man!

I've just seen Warrington announce it on their FB page. Their fans seem happy with the Holmes signing, but seem peed that they're losing Mamo for Mata'utia.

Well there we have it, Holmes following in the footsteps of his grandad's brother. And people thought he was just off for the money....

Let's all calm down and wish them good luck for the future - that's apart from playing Cas that is !!
Ollie and Peanut are good players but it is not as if we cannot replace them with equally good players !!
Have faith, players change and coaches change like for all teams but let's hope Radders can outshine DP in the next couple of years as he, I perceive, has a lot to prove and he will be determined to make it happen after getting drop kicked out of Hull in a very embarrassing manner and will be out to prove a lot of doubters wrong which I am hoping (as we all) will be the catalyst to making another step up for Cas as a team to be reckoned with amongst all the big boy clubs !!

Not bothered with either going Peanut very average 1 good game in 5 player.
Oggy very injury prone gets injured at least once a season and has 2-3 months out.

When he plays hes one of our most consistent players, always near the top for tackles for us and probably most importantly hes an 80 minute player every week which helps better use of the interchanges
Whoever replaces him will have their work cut out

Isn’t his replacement Joe Westerman, who does all of the above but also has a passing / offload element to his game?

Wish holmes all best he as had lot of injuries over years sadly but whenever he as been on pitch as always been one of best players out there, never seems to let down if not for his injuries i feel he would have been snapped up by one of so called big clubs years ago. thanks and good luck( except against us obviously)

If he didn't want to go then why didn't he sign the contract offered by Cas ?

Yes, against St Helens I believe. It was very disturbing at the time.

Maybe just maybe radford was asked if he wanted to resign Holmes n Mata'utia n he chose not to so they had to look elsewhere? Iv not seen it anywhere say Holmes n Mata'utia turned down an offer from cas to sign for wire

From the article on the clubs website;
‘Both Holmes and Mata’utia were made offers to extend their contracts with the Club but will be looking to end their time with the Tigers on a high note before embarking on new challenges in 2022’

Home ğrown talent is cheaper in the salary cap but if they don't want to stay so be it.
My gripe is that DP will know the offer made by Cas and our limit. It makes it so much harder to retain our players.
We should have made a condition of DP being released from his contract that he can't sign or players unless they were released. Hard to police I know but he's doing us over. Wait until he targets qereqere and others.
The problem is if we let him good, we don't know if he hasn't a copy of each players contract or who we'd get to replace him until radford comes in. I would presume all his staff would leave with him.
