How has Higgins kept his job?

Post by covid tiger » 21 May 2021, 19:50

Sorry Darren Higgins and Tony smith but you deserve the bullet on this. Club has selected poor youth for years in a talent pool of rugby league.. The best outside Wigan. fact... Too many jobs for the boys..

Thought this user had been banned after his foul and abusive post towards me.

Final straw I’m afraid; I’m not on here to put up with that sort of abuse and have it tolerated by the moderators who just remove it and don’t do anything else.

I think I know who covid tiger is now. I've seen a few posts on here similar to ones posted on social media by a certain person, If it is who I think, then it makes absolute sense the kind of weird childish stuff they post.

This site getting very personal again come on guys and girls we all need to stand together against this as the money men try to rip the heart out off the heart lands off the game once again even if it's partly the clubs fault on the facilities issues. No way should the rfl be taking it out on young local talent any thing to give the big four a leg up and advantage seems the order off the day.

Higgins and Tony Smith arnt to blame the club have seemed not bothered about the academy certainly in funding
Players produced have found little opertunity to break in the first team Jon Wells said himself two weeks ago on sky players like Peachey and Martin have had to be very very patient in waiting for a chance
The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have

Like DP said, those younger players weren’t ready for SL. I can’t think of one young player we’ve let go whose made it in super league…I don't include Callum Mclelland, Luis Johnson or Bailey Hodgson in that as we sold them.

Quite simply, Powell's. I love the bloke, but his reluctance to blood young lads in favour for seasoned players has been apparent for years. It took him a while to finally give O'Neill game time and look how quick he took to 1st team rugby. Then for whatever reason, he wouldn't play Hodgson, at a time when we was screaming out for a fullback, who at the time, was the next best thing coming through our ranks. I know you can't play them all, but plenty have fallen through the cracks.

I still think the decision is correct to not aware us an 'elite' status, but we should still be allowed to have an academy. Cas High is the hotbed of rugby league in the country, where to now for these lads coming through?! they'll be cherry picked by Leeds, Huddersfield etc

cherry picking as always gone on Wigan paid for a bus to take some of the young lads from Normy to have a look at their facilities Leeds take a number and when Bradford were in their pomp they took all the big lads
