Re: End Of The Academy
It's not about winning, it's about creating a pathway to allow developing talents further.
The area provides strong resources hence a stronger side than most.
However, we are not developing players to their full potential like other teams.
That is why Cas came bottom in the table of SL players produced since 2014.
Can I just add, thank you for suupprting and promoting the academy like you do, it is in stark contrast to the club.
Re: End Of The Academy

Re: End Of The Academy
Which teams were in the “table”? Why was a table only produced since 2014? Surely we produced more than Catalans, Leigh, etc? Not having a go just not seen what you’re referring to.Year of the Tiger wrote: ↑12 Jun 2021, 15:40That is why Cas came bottom in the table of SL players produced since 2014.
Re: End Of The Academy
Also does table include local talent scooped up by big clubs that are then discarded, no point in wigan saints having hundreds of kids in system then fetching say ten through. Prefer following method were you select 20/30 promising youngsters and fetch them threw. One of measurements should show quality not quantity and we produced more quality than fair few that were selected but that's all water under bridge now. The club want to chuck as much into academy as possible even giving players due to retire in next couple of years like shenton a role, any player wanting to get into coaching after retiring helping youngsters is a good first step. Maybe club could try and get more sponsers on board to back academy teams especially some of these involved in tech who were removed to have wanted to help cas previously and also get games played down lane. Why on a weekend when 1st team play away for instance can't club put on a double header were both academy and ladies teams play back to back hence pushing both teams and hopefully getting some good crowds down lane, raising both academy and ladies teams profiles and raising more revenue to push both forward. I follow cas tigers whatever age group or sex i have watched them all
Re: End Of The Academy
Sunday afternoon would increase the footfall why they want to play on Thursday nights and clash with the Tv game is beyond me, are we the only club at the moment that are only letting parents watch the 16s and 19s this week Hull were charging spectators £3 Wakefield advertised their match at £5 entry
Re: End Of The Academy
According to SKY last night, the Hull v Hull KR academy game a couple of weeks ago had 2000 spectators. Yet our academy it’s no spectators other than family.
How’s that work ? I just don’t get it.

They actively promote the game, they also have refreshment facilities open on match days. It's a far better experience.
Re: End Of The Academy
Not really the point. I assume no spectators at our academy games is because of COVID rules. So how do they get away with 2000 ?Year of the Tiger wrote: ↑12 Jun 2021, 22:07They actively promote the game, they also have refreshment facilities open on match days. It's a far better experience.

They didn't get away with anything at all, they showed a willingness to open up and abide by the current regulations.Tiger53 wrote: ↑12 Jun 2021, 22:22Not really the point.
