Oliver Holmes.
Re: Oliver Holmes.
Short career, could end at any stage through injury so good luck to the lad. He will be missed but he has to look after himself and his future.
Why wouldn’t he go for more money, more chance of success (arguably) and a 3 year contract?
I don’t know what I think about Powell. He clearly wants to finish at Cas with success but he clearly will be wanting to secure the best players he has for Wire for next year. Only natural but I don’t like it

Re: Oliver Holmes.
If Holmes leaves (and it is just a rumour), surely whether this is a good or a bad thing depends on who replaces him?

Re: Oliver Holmes.
The club is certainly in transition with players coming and going, all dependent upon what the new Coach wants.
I hope the club are working with Radders and the players he wants to keep, whilst still looking to strengthen.
On a related topic, if DP truly wants a new challenge, why is he targeting the players he's already working with? Doesn't seem much of a challenge to me and on a par with staying where he is. Just a thought.

Re: Oliver Holmes.
Makes you wonder if Warrington have had to tighten the purse string a bit with Covid and haven't got the funds to be going to the NRL market. Could be a reason they're so keen to get Austin and Widdop off their books to free up money. Cheaper option is to bring the best from Cas perhaps.FIat Capper wrote: ↑12 May 2021, 12:28 The club is certainly in transition with players coming and going, all dependent upon what the new Coach wants.

Re: Oliver Holmes.
Would Holmes even get in the Warrington back row?
Ben Currie contracted to 2023
Jack Hughes contracted to 2022
Joe Philbin contracted to 2024

Re: Oliver Holmes.
He would be replacing J Clark wouldnt he... bet Warrington fans wouldn't be jumping up and down with glee if he goes there but at same time I think he's a fine player so wouldn't want him to leave

If I were a "dire" fan I wouldn't be excited at the thought of signing oggy, yes, he's a good club man but he's not the type of player to push you onto a trophy/title win type player. Also he's prone to spending plenty of time on the physio table... If he went and lawler replaced him I would take that.

Re: Oliver Holmes.
I'd take that.
Holmes and JSL replaced by Lawler and Savelio would be an improvement I think. I think Holmes is playing as well as I've seen him play this season, but if he leaves he is replaceable.
I think Savelio will re-sign at Hull, but Radford has signed him before so hopefully kept his number!
