Re: Sky Deal
Matches being cut from 80 to 66.
Great deal that......not.

Re: Sky Deal
The super league clubs won't lose out financially other clubs down the tier will and though there's a reduction in games clubs will be able to negotiate deals with other platforms so in theory all games could be shown live
Championship clubs look close to doing a deal for themselves with Premier Sport
That's according to the document Matt Shaws put up on his Twitter

Re: Sky Deal
I suppose 66 games will allow 2 games a weekend with Catalans able to negotiate separately for their home games. Sounds better than the rumoured Elstone deal.

Re: Sky Deal
Sky only having “first pick in each of the play-off weeks” is interesting.
It’s a big drop in funding.
Will there be another network keen to take on the games Sky don’t choose?
Will Our League become a potential money-maker, with games shown on a pay-per-view and subscription basis that are not on Sky?

Re: Sky Deal
The net loss is £833,333 per season or £69,444 per club per season. Given they’re showing less games, the deal maybe on a par with the current one

Re: Sky Deal
Rumours are on social media that the deal is for 66 games for £25m.
But two further blocks are available of 10 games with BBC picking up one for Saturday 3pm games.
The other 10 opens the door for another paid deal like BT/Amazon Prime/Premier Sports

Re: Sky Deal
The BBC are saying it's worth between £25-£30 million. So a loss of £10 to £15 million for the super league clubs. Which is a joke considering the clubs only just survived a pandemic and now they're getting less tv money.
Re: Sky Deal
The deal is for one less year than before, so the net loss is less than £70,000 per year per club.LeeThorpe898 wrote: ↑28 Apr 2021, 14:50 The BBC are saying it's worth between £25-£30 million.
