Re: Challenge cup
Can anyone verify if the game will be played down lane.
I’ve seen it’s at a neutral ground. Why.
All teams draw at home in this round gets the benefit of playing at their own ground. Who’s making this rules up.

Re: Challenge cup
It's just catalans who are at a neutral ground. Classed as their home tie today

Re: Challenge cup
The QF are at neutral grounds in the form of two double header
1 group on SKY (Friday) 1 group on BBC (Saturday)
I would guess we would play Friday at Headingley/Warrington along with St Helens game
Others at St Helens on Saturday

Re: Challenge cup
I think that’s all wrong.
Why should some teams (this round) have home advantage.
Then next round home teams have to play away.
It’s a farce.

Re: Challenge cup
It will be due to a combination of TV demands & Covid restriction that will still apply. More to do with TV though.old cas lass wrote: ↑10 Apr 2021, 18:37I think that’s all wrong.

That shouldn't mask the drinks, brewery, planning situation at the RFL though. They will probably explain if next week when SKY & BBC have told them what to do.

If this is how it’s gonna be from now on, which it wouldn’t surprise me.
They can stick the game up there jacksee.

Re: Challenge cup
Just off topic slightly but does anyone else think the standard of the challenge cup draw as gone down a bit? TV pundits John Wilkin and Marc Chapman calling and pulling the balls out of the bag. What an embarrassment.

Re: Challenge cup
Absolutely.
I thought it was a disgrace.
Laughing and mucking about.
No wonder no one takes the sport seriously.
Re: Challenge cup
I turned the sound off half way through the first match Dave Woods was getting on my nerves ( in rugby league it's the half backs that are the playmakers ) coudnt take no more of him

Mate, it was embarrassing when Hull came out and Wilson said “they won the cup in 2017....and that’s about it”

Re: Challenge cup
They were having a laugh.
Let's face it the RL CUP is becoming a bit of a laugh.
One man quickly puts the balls in a bag, with his right hand, keeps hold of it and then pulls the numbers out with the same hand.
Mmmmm.
A trainee magician could make sure it went any way they wanted.

Well it’s either headingley or saints.SuffolkTiger wrote: ↑11 Apr 2021, 00:06Confirmation that all 4 QFs are in neutral turf.old cas lass wrote: ↑10 Apr 2021, 19:09Can’t bring Covid into it.SuffolkTiger wrote: ↑10 Apr 2021, 18:59It will be due to a combination of TV demands & Covid restriction that will still apply. They are the only 2 they are using.
Re: Challenge cup
If Saints and Leeds are the venues for the quarter finals and as Saints were drawn 7th out of the bag and Cas were drawn 3rd the odd numbers should be classed as the home team. Therefore it would be grossly unfair for Saints v Giants to be played at Saints so it should be played at Warrington. Likewise Cas v Salford should be played at Headingley. I think if Saints and Headingley are to be the chosen venues, then Saints v Giants must be played at Headingley as well as Cas v Salford. But I expect Sky and BBC will have the final say.
Re: Challenge cup
What a shambles.
