Date of announcement?
Shortlist?
Anything.........

I keep looking at this thread and it's getting repetitive and has turned into a slanging match.
sadly, we know Cas are terrible at the publicity thing so it's just a question of sit and wait, speculate if you fancy it and then bang your head when it is finally announced.

I look at it this way.
There’s not one coach available out there that’s a patch on daryl powel.
So no matter who we get won’t get out of the players that powell did.
Meaning and this is my opinion, the club on the field will be far worse off.
Hoping I’m wrong and we find another messiah, but doubt it.

Exactly this...
Whomever we get aren't gonna be up to Powell high standards. I just hope we don't go as low as radfords.

Powell wasn't that well thought of when we signed him I believe Jimmy Lowe's was the favourite for the job after Basil left it just turned out a inspired choice and he fitted us perfect
I think if we make the right choice and keep spending the full cap no reason we can't carry on being a strong side
The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have

I'm not sure Cas fans weren't supportive of Powell's appointment but there were comments about his ability to get his sides to win 'big games'. I reported this myself as many Fev fans were openly reporting he'll win nothing but many spoke of their regret at his leaving when face-to-face with me.

I suspect there's a similar situation in place amongst Cas fans at the mo, increasing when he does leave.

Paul Anderson worth a look at, he has been learning from the best and the RFL seem to like the lad (always a bonus). Just a thought

Not the best, not in my DNA had not taken an interest in Rugby League never mind Castleford until the early eighties.
However I'm hooked now.
Rugby League has struggled for several decades and the successful sides have had the good fortune of new or vastly improved stadia, financial backers, bigger conurbations and therefore a potentially bigger customer base.
Cas is a deprived area, it's core industries have closed, it is the poor relation of a poor relation (to use the term of others just a small town in Wakefield)
The facilities for customers are being honest an insult, the corporate offering is amateurish and poor value and the training facilities are abysmal.
The fitness coaching team come in for a fair bit of stick.
Considering the facilities, they are probably working miracles.
According to all those in the know Ian Fulton is only interested in taking money out of the club.
As for a new stadium and corporate income.
From a purely objective view l think the pandemic and the success of Zoom will result in big drops in the need for such extravagance.
To be honest sell me the corporate package.
I could go to Headingley great transport links.
Good shopping, hospitality and entertainment.
York much as above with history and culture thrown in.
The talent pool is small unlike Warrington or Saints or the majority of Super League clubs it's not an attractive package.
Yes there are people who l would rather not have at the club but whoever gets the gig it's a bit of a poison chalice.
Like everyone else who has come to Cas Ryan Bailey excluded they will get my support.
Daryl leaves not big shoes as they are worn by clowns, we don't need any more of those, he leaves smart shoes to fill.
Not an easy task on the bright and sunny note l will sit back and hope.
But more than that l can't wait to get down to our dilapidated stadium to cheer on the lads
Stay safe.
What a load of nonsense. We know we're a small town and our corporate doesn't compete with Leeds. But then again we ain't a massive city and yes our stadium is dilapidated and the training facilities aren't the best we know. How about in the future maybe try being more positive instead of pointing out all the clubs flaws you muppet. And you call yourself a cas fan don't make me laugh.
So which part of it is nonsense? He speaks the truth and your agreeing with him in the rest of your post
Like the original poster, I didn't have a clue about Rugby League until the mid-eighties. And I too was hooked after going to one game at Cas(after 30 years of playing/watching football).
Sometimes the truth hurts. As does exasperation, disappointment and realisation that some aspects must be addressed. That doesn't deny his right to call himself a 'fan', if anything it reinforces it.

You heard that from the media reporting him and 3 others are front runners? Personally I can see Henderson becoming the coach and I think that would be a good move for us.

its looking like its now radfords if he wants it. if thats true i hope its no more than a 1 year contract. i have to travel from brid and i'd give him the benefit of the doubt for 12 months but if he serves up his normal 5 drives and a kick that will be finished until he's gone. absolute joke.

I'd like to hear there reasoning if theve picked Radford and how does that leave Liam Watts is he off at the end of the season is that why is forms dropped off he got wind of Radford being on the radar God knows strange times we seem to be in

Unfortunately whoever it is will have an uphill task if Jake Trueman isn’t secured to a bumper long term deal.

Allowing Powell to leave is a major mistake.

Letting Trueman go would be catastrophic for the future of the club.
