Wouldn't be surprised if we nick Webster from Fev but that's only because history tells me Cas have very little ambition,
Like they nicked Powell from Fev.

Appoint within player coach McShane with Sheridan and Millington making up the coaching team sooner give that a go than most of names mentioned so far

Don’t agree with player-coaches in this day and age. I’m not sure what kind of coach/player relationships Macca would have, but I’m not sure it would be a good one when the going gets tough.

I said, on another thread, a while ago that my 3 choices would be Ward, Ford, Hendo. I've also said, previously, that I'd like to see Millo kept on in some coaching capacity when he hangs his boots up end of this season. I'm still of the same opinion. I also think one of the questions that needs answering is whether Sheridan is going with DP or stopping. This could have an effect on who would be the better choice for head coach in my opinion.

You can all throw as many names into the ring as you want but McDermott has got the job. Powell is taking Trueman with him which is why Cas offered Obrien a 3 Year contract.

People said Obrian was getting a three year deal because Evalds was going to Saints after a year at Cas
I don't think Trueman will leave Cas but that's just my gut feeling

He’s done a decent apprenticeship as an assistant.
Could be the right time for him to step up.
He’d need some experience around him.
Doubt it will be Sheridan as I’ve heard he’s off with powell.

Maybe Millington or Shenton.

This would be be a massive step backwards if he gets the job. No experience as a coach. Typical Cas if this happens ie cheap option. However McDermott will get the job.

No complaints here with Hendo, done his apprenticeship and maybe time for him to step up. Still remember him calling Cas ‘my club’ in his on field speech when he left us so we know he has a liking for the place.

Well, they’ve gone from “McDermott has accepted the job” to “if Hendo gets the job” to “McDermott will get the job”, so do you think it’s fact?

Only thing certain is if it’s not McDermott, this posters going to be sick of the sight of “I was so wrong” pie 😁😁

One things I’ve learned is that predicting how a new coach will go is impossible. For example Furner at Leeds, Mildred at Cas. Powell was a gamble which came off. I’d sooner get one whose career is progressing upwards rather than one who has been sacked elsewhere, such as Radford or McDermott.
Some might say Powell was sacked at Leeds, but that was to get an Aussie coach in.

I really hope we get a left field appointment that no one seems to be talking about. Danny Orr i really hope he has applied, served a very good apprenticeship under DP for years and knows the club and how it operates and the full squad know what he is about. We have a good core squad and there is no reason why Danny Orr should not get the job if he applied.
