Re: Jon Wells
Well atleast it's confirmed now. Let's just sit back and see who his replacement is if there is one.

Re: Jon Wells
The latter is a very good question and if there are any isuues over finance, I see it as a 'luxury' we don't need.LeeThorpe898 wrote: ↑08 Apr 2021, 15:49 Well atleast it's confirmed now. Let's just sit back and see who his replacement is if there is one.

Re: Jon Wells
Well at least that's one sorted out.
All these changes going on at the club the one we really want is a new owner with pots of cash... we can dream.
Still of the belief something has happened at the club for Orr, DP and now Wells all going
Re: Jon Wells
Wonder if he will end up at Warrington with PowellFIat Capper wrote: ↑08 Apr 2021, 16:18The latter is a very good question and if there are any isuues over finance, I see it as a 'luxury' we don't need.LeeThorpe898 wrote: ↑08 Apr 2021, 15:49 Well atleast it's confirmed now. The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have

Re: Jon Wells
Correct me if I'm wrong but at present we don't have either a CEO or Director of Rugby?

Re: Jon Wells
Ultimately, if the new coach wants to bring in players and talk to the bod himself we don't need a director of rugby.
Leeds have one in sinfield but you'll remember their coach wasn't very good at the whole job so just coaches the players.
Don't know what they'll do with sinfield when wane comes in as coach, maybe ceo and hetherington retiring?

Re: Jon Wells
Mark Grattan is top man, not sure if he on payroll or not. There was suggestions he was was self employed and charged the club consultation fees. I don't know anymore maybe someone at club can answer.
Re: Jon Wells
Don’t hold your breath while waiting for a answer from the hierarchy at cas they must be the worse club in the league for keeping supporters in the dark.

Re: Jon Wells
I totally disagree.
I think it is one thing we excel at.
We are so much better at keeping the fans in the dark than any of the other Super League clubs.
We are always the last to know.
So we certainly are consistent in the matter.

Re: Jon Wells
The CEO job was split after Steve Gill left with Gratton taking over the financial running of the club with Wells in charge of the rugby side, the question now is will we continue with this set up we have had since 2018 or revert to the traditional CEO role ?

Re: Jon Wells
I would suggest in jobs like these, like with football managers, they have a group that travel with them, that when one change happens, several follow.
Sport clubs, especially without the riches in football are not as simple as the CFO does the adding up and the Marketing Manager spends it, it is nuanced, you can't have one without the other and it is relationship based.
I personally think we have had some good continuity and if Danny knew change was coming chose for himself, Daryll made a change etc,,, then it is logical that people with such intertwined personal relationships would also choose this time to make a change.
I don't think we can throw the baby out with the bathwater until all the nuances have played out and more importantly we are just Cas fans - they could have the tea lady picking the team if we have a good season, this will all have been a pointless folly and most people will have forgotten Darren Pole or whatever his name was if we are walking out in a final!

Re: Jon Wells
Radford has already said he sorts the players contracts and stuff out. No need for Jon in the new regime.

Re: Jon Wells
Certainly need one, wouldn't want Gratton involved in rugby issues and it allows Radford to do what he is paid for , coach.
If Powell needed support why wouldn't Radford?

Re: Jon Wells
John Kear?
Re: Jon Wells
Perfect choice. Might enjoy finishing his career at his hometown club, has done the role before at Wakey (when they had their decent couple of seasons) and has the respect of everyone in the game. Always had a good eye for spotting untapped potential and is very media friendly. Fits the bill.
