Excellent news, think that takes the doom and gloom away for 1 day at least.

Re: Evalds to sign new deal
All we need now is for our new coach to have a good network over in Australia so we can bring in some overseas that make an impact. A player like Kelepi Tanganoia at wakey would’ve come cheap and he’s been a sensation so we need to get that aspect right next year. I’ve also seen today that Joey Leilua is out of favour at West tigers and with our captain retiring at the end of the season that could be an option if he wants out of west’s.

Great news should buck everybody up were going to continue to build after Powelly gone and try to stay among the better teams... puts my conspericy theory to bed
Well done to Jon Wells and the club if he signs a long deal just what was needed to boost morale before kick off

Re: Evalds to sign new deal
Great news if true; would certainly avoid the inevitable speculation that he’s leaving with Powell/going to Saints (or any other club).

This could be just a smoke screen but hope its genuine. Even if he signs a 3 Year deal it doesnt mean Cas cant sell him and make some money.

Matthew Shaw usually bang on the money, says it how it is usually none of this click bait rubbish.westerbeast73 wrote: ↑23 Mar 2021, 19:19 This could be just a smoke screen but hope its genuine. Even if he signs a 3 Year deal it doesnt mean Cas cant sell him and make some money.

Re: Evalds to sign new deal
If this is true then it is a massive signing for the club
There will certainly have have been plenty of clubs interested in luring Evalds to their club for 2022 without a doubt as he is a top quality player
Evalds is a great player to build the spine of our side from moving forward

Re: Evalds to sign new deal
Doesn't make any sense signing him for 1 year then extending it before hes played a competitive game?

Re: Evalds to sign new deal
Certainly over funding?
Re: Evalds to sign new deal
Made sense to me give him 1 year. Get rid of the dross we have throw the money together to give him a better deal with the money from the rubbish we've let go.... Simple business.
what doesn't kill me simply makes me...stranger.

Re: Evalds to sign new deal
Fantastic news if correct. Just the kind of boost we need to take in to the new season after last weeks news.
We just need to play him at FB every game and keep the spine as it is. Nice to have a bit of stability at FB after a few years of uncertainty.
Thanks for the commitment Niall.

Re: Evalds to sign new deal
Does this add weight to Trueman leaving given O’Brien and now Evalds have long term deals?

Re: Evalds to sign new deal
Who've we got rid of that wasn't already off contract when we originally signed him? We knew we had 20 odd players off contract when we originally signed Evalds so dont see why we couldn't offer him the longer contract back then.
