Yes, due to:

Better players
Better facilities
Bigger crowds...when allowed back in!?
Better coaches
Better young players
More money
Job security
Nope. Cas is in my blood, I’d never never never want to go to another team.
Hand on heart NO.
But you’re looking at it as a supporter whose invested time and money into the club. Look at it as what it is, an employee / employer relationship. Like has already been said, if my current employer is going to pay me £10ph but someone else is going to pay me £15ph to do the same thing in better surrounds, I’d be off like a shot.
That's the whole point of the question, cas is our club.

I join OCL and John Joyner by hand on heart saying no I would never join Warrington or another club.

I question Daryl's integrity somewhat right now and that makes me sad

I said from the start that a season long farewell tour was a bad idea, does anyone seriously think that Powell won’t be closely assessing Warrington’s performances every week? The bloke will not be fully focussed on the job in hand. The club must have had fair warning of his intentions and the sooner we get the new man in the better. Our two opening fixtures were almost a gift 4 points against a dire Warrington and a depleted Leeds, things could turn pear shaped fast if we don’t get this sorted.

If a rival company offered to pay me more than my current employer to do the same job, I’d absolutely take it.
Cas isn’t Daryl Powell’s club - it is his employer.

The club was here before Daryl Powell, it will be here after.

I / we should support Castleford Tigers, not whoever the Head Coach is.

Agree with Nottingham 100% here. It’s all about what’s doing best for you at the time. I wish Daryl nothing but the best going forward. You never know what might happen but let’s face it, Warrington is a far more enticing job than ours, better facilities, more money (salary and to spend on players). What do we actually bring to the table to have someone choose us over Warrington? Other than the fact we are “his” club so to speak.

I may have remembered this wrong but I thought Joyner was looking to go at one stage (Bradford!) but the club were having none of it.

History shows he didn't go to Bradford and nobody would have begrudged him the pay rise he may or may not have been seeking.

Daryl will be doing all he can to gain advantageous insight into Warrington's affairs all year now whilst we wonder who'll be tempted into following him

Correct me if I am wrong but Fulton let him go by changing his contract?
DP has probably had enough. Asked to go and Fulton agreed.

Now why would you do that?

I can’t say I’m a fan of the long goodbye scenario we have found ourselves in but for me it’s better than cutting our nose off to spite our face and ending up worse off than we are now.
As someone else’s has said it looks clear the players still want him here and are all pulling together so that’s good enough for me.if this stops then maybe it’s time to look again but as things stand now give the man who has given us all some great memories chance to go out on a high.
As for unsettling or poaching players I’d worry more about the double dealings of Craig Harrison than anything Powell might do.
Honestly some people on here are acting like a jilted hysterical girlfriend/boyfriend.
It’s sport yes it’s emotional but come on some of the stuff on here lately is embarrassing.
Until such a time as the team performance suffers I say good luck Daryl thanks for everything and I hope you give us a few more memories.before you go.

How do you change a blokes contract unless he wanted it changed

You have to know what the reasons he is going are before you can decide what you think.

I would imagine he was told there wasn’t the funding to do what he wanted and he would have to stick with what we have and add some “Projects” to the squad.

I don’t think for a minute he just decided he has had enough. If DP wanted to go and/or the club didn’t want him he would have gone in October when the talks were held.

Because something has clearly gone on end of 2020.

Orr leaves out of blue (to us)

DP now leaves blaming out of contract players etc etc (that happens every year)

The owners clearly not that bothered and agreed to changing his contract so he can go early.

Without doubt all this was sorted at both clubs in 2020

If he leaves with a cup win or GF win, his name will be etched into the club history books.
If he doesn’t, it won’t.

Definitely more to it than we’ll probably ever know. It’s even been questioned by Wire fans! This is from the Warrington RLFans board this afternoon;

‘Why leave Cas now? He’s just secured the ‘core’ players that he needed. He has Evalds, Richardson, Trueman and McShane all locked in to contracts. Seems he had put together the key pieces of the puzzle, only to walk away’
