Surely his position is untenable here!
Why cos a few fans don’t think it’s right?
To me the players want him here. The board want him here that’s enough for me.
Just get behind him and the team sure we will have a coach announcement in the next week or so and he can then start planning for next season.

Price wont last much longer and Powell will be quickly moved in , giving poor old Cas a few bob compensation.
Powell could well be at Old Trafford this season just a shame it will be with money bags Warrington.
If Warrington even get to the GF, I’ll eat my hat. Beyond a few good players, their squad is poor. They need a transitional period and that squad needs improving if they are going to win SL.
I don’t think it’s a good move for DP if I’m honest. He’s not going to win anything unless they can overhaul their current squad and the expectation will be for him to win stuff with what is essentially poor group of players.
I hear what you're saying but I don't think Wire are in as bad a position as Cas were when he chose us. He may like the challenge, who knows but I'm sure his recruitment drive will be supported and Widdop/Austin may actually become half decent half-backs?
By the way Adnins, any chance we can join the Powell and Conflict of Interest threads. I'm in and out like the oakey cokey!
No doubt he’ll get more financial support, but what he won’t get at Warrington is time. They will be expecting him to win trophies immediately, and I don’t think their squad is capable of that.
If Warrington have a season like Cas in 2020, he will be out of a job in no time.
Very, very few players find the grass is greener elsewhere. I think the same might happen to Powell; he might get more financial support, but I’m pretty sure he’s not going to get as much leeway when things don’t go to plan as he does at Cas.
He wouldn't get the same leeway anywhere he went..the one thing he does is improves players Mcshane a good example he was so crap at Wakey they swoped him for Scott Moore he's turned into one of best 9s around I would think the Warrington players are looking forward to working with him
The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have

Powell Out!!!
I won't be applauding him anymore. I rank this as high as when Solomona ditched us for anger level. How on earth can he stay, its no wonder he was so happy the other day.

Would anyone here leave Cas to join Warrington, never mind with a season to play in front of cas fans.
I fear he risks bad receptions if a deal isn’t cut for sooner and we bring a new guy in. We need to think of the club and the future. Bring someone in now. Go Daryl is my view now

Depends on how you look at it.
If another company offered me the same job and gave me a significant pay rise, in addition to more financial resources to do my job and better facilities, I think I probably would.

I know exactly how you feel I feel the same, I am very disappointed how it has all come out and it’s only a week or so that Powell said he had not signed anywhere so this announcement makes him a liar,he should go and make the break now and let us get a coach who wants to be at cas.
Yep, once a liar, never trusted again.

Spot on again Notts, every one of us would do the same. The only thing I'm not keen on is reducing his contract duration which effectively made him a free agent. That said none of us know what deal he reached with Fulton to lose a year, and although some people claim to be in the know nobody knows what financial pressure the club is really under. But it'll all come out in the wash as my granny used to say.

Don't no why were saying get rid of Powell now who we gonna bring in? Il will put money on cas haven't even started looking for a replacement won't be sorted till end of season with how club mess about so what would alterative be especially if Sheridan is going aswel we're only 2 week in to season so play rest of Yr with no coach? And don't understand how people think they'll be a conflict of interest if by some how we get to grand final and play wire Powell will 100% want 2 win it with us surely a grand final win looks better on your cv than loosing 1 against team your gonna coach Yr after

If I drove a forklift for asda and they paid me 20k then morrisons offered me 30k to do the same job then showed me that the pension scheme was better and told me that I didn't have to go in on Wednesday because the my assistant will do my job I'd snap their hands off.
Only a hypothetical example...

It’s a different relationship as an employee, though.
To most people who work at the club (even players and coaches) the club is simply an employer.
Loyalty in any industry isn’t endless. I’m sure Powell has had opportunities to move to other clubs, probably for more money, and decided to stay at Cas.

The silence from the club is deafening, DP leaving should not have been announced until there was news from the club to deaden the blow.
in response to Mucky1978, I feel the supporters will be behind him until we get our usual once a season trouncing, then the knives will be out, some will be almost willing us to fail to vent their spleens.
Myself? I just feel empty, as if it really is the end of an era if not the end of our SL adventure, I dont know another coach who could get so much out of the players we can afford to hire'
Out of left field, maybe Paul Anderson could do a job and his England and RL connections could benefit us in other ways
Maybe whisky will help ...........................................................................

as the Keepmoat Tiger has alluded to Powell will find it a different kettle of fish at Warrington. At Cas he had been used to working within the comfortable atmosphere of little expectation / ambition, his chronic bottling of the big games will simply not be tolerated at Warrington. It also remains to be seen how he’ll handle big name marquee players as he has made himself something of a silk purse from a sows ear specialist. He may get a 6 month honeymoon before the rumblings start.

Meanwhile back in Castleford Daryl will be allowed to get into the players he really wants to take with him by dripping doubts into their ears over the next 11 months.

Nope. Cas is in my blood, I’d never never never want to go to another team.
Hand on heart NO.
