Re: 2021 League Table
Only because we accepted the fixtures then at a letter date they changed the points system and then clubs were not as forthcoming. Whilst it's fair because everybody starts with same I still feel clubs will exploit it as the season gets in to full swing and even more so towards end of season. Getting off to a good start is a must.
Re: 2021 League Table
Surely they can't have religation useing this system be a worry if do teams pick and choose there games like last year.

Re: 2021 League Table
Shocking, your gonna get teams picking and choosing who they play and if it will benefit to play the covid card against certain teams..

Re: 2021 League Table
I don’t think we can have relegation under this system.
The team in 11th place will have too much of an incentive to forfeit a game.
I know there are stricter rules around only players counting towards the case numbers (not like when Wigan called a game off because a few ‘staff’ were identified through track and trace), but the teams with one positive test will soon ‘find’ six others who have been ‘in contact’ with the positive player if they’ve got a game coming up that’s likely to reduce their win percentage.
To be honest, I don’t know why they aren’t running a points-based system to start with - they can always revert to a percentage system if necessary.

Re: 2021 League Table
Agree with that, particularly the last point.
If they are going to review scrums mid season, it would have been sensible to have reviewed the points system at the same time

Re: 2021 League Table
We won’t have clubs filling in this season at short notice like we did last season because we now have an even number of clubs, unless of course two or more matches are affected.

Re: 2021 League Table
I love how they've said the playoff positions are subject to change after a quite clear set of rules. I guess that's to make sure the "right" teams and Leeds get in?
No wonder people laugh at the sport. Why not just say. "the super league payoffs will include, saints, Wigan, Warrington, Leeds and Hull. Plus one lucky golden ticket holder"

Re: 2021 League Table
Got to agree with people on this matter. This is typical of the RFL to come out with some news then kill it in the same communication.
Totally agree with the point where we start as a normal season and then revert to a back up if needed. Once again the league is being left wide open to “Some clubs” bending the rules to suit themselves.
Every year we see some kind of fudge from the powers that be.

Re: 2021 League Table
Everyone knows what the people who run the game are like another ridiculous desicion it was a system that was abused by clubs last season it will be abused again by clubs if there's a chance it will get them into play offs or avoid relegation
The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have

Re: 2021 League Table
Yep complete joke yet again from the rfl. How a team can play 10 games yet another team having only played 5 or 6 can be higher is a farce. They should just use the points system and only use this if it gets like it did last year imo.

Re: 2021 League Table
I bet clubs re now sat down working out which games they can cancel to give them a higher percentage. You know, let's not play the better teams and concentrate on beating the ones we fancy playing.
Just a thought...

Re: 2021 League Table

Re: 2021 League Table
Eventually, but the players are likely to be at the end of the queue given their age (unless they have an underlying health condition).westerbeast73 wrote: ↑08 Mar 2021, 18:34 Surely all the Supegleague players and staff will have been given the vaccine?

Just play the teams you think you can beat, and cry off in the games against teams you are likely to lose to, stating you have several players down with covid that have to isolate and are thus unable to field a side.
Re: 2021 League Table
With the isolation period being at least 10 days, surely that wouldn’t work as you’d often have to cancel two games.stuey wrote: ↑09 Mar 2021, 17:51You are spot-on.FIat Capper wrote: ↑08 Mar 2021, 17:39 I bet clubs re now sat down working out which games they can cancel to give them a higher percentage.
