So our 2 big earners and star signings have both turned out to be poor. Dont get me wrong I think Blair will fo well playing 2nd row but he wasn't brought in for that.tigerfeat wrote: ↑20 Feb 2021, 10:02 Blair was brought in to be the centre for the next three years and Shenton was given a two year new deal that was our centres...both turned out incorrect desicions
You make them mistakes your going to struggle and I know hindsight is a wonderful thing I was excited when we signed Blair but nevertheless those decisions have left us weak in the centres position

A lot of signings come good in other positions. Vowles was not a loose forward.westerbeast73 wrote: ↑20 Feb 2021, 10:22So our 2 big earners and star signings have both turned out to be poor. Graham Bradley another let's hope he does as good as Penguin and Vowlsey in his new role ...Still leaves us looking weak in the centre position for next season before kick-off

Re: Back line
Does Rhys Evans have a sl clause? Was at Leeds on loan last year but he's back at Bradford, surely he isn't expensive. Also, what ever happened to Omari Caro? He was a big fast bloke a few years back but might have been rotting in low leagues for too long.westerbeast73 wrote: ↑19 Feb 2021, 19:12 To be honest I would rather have Bjb at centre over shenton, at least he's got some pace.
Re: Back line
Says it all when the club get slated for playing players out of position, then it is recommended they sign a 32 year old winger to play in the centre...

Re: Back line
He would still do a better job than Shenton, beggars can't be choosers either.

I think you’re in a group of very few with that opinion.

Re: Back line
Who was in charge the year we played a whole season with Arundel as our only recognised centre and Brett Ferres standing in for virtually the whole season? Must have been while Shenny was at Saints.
Re: Back line
Think that was the 2012 season when Ian Millward was in chargeTamworth Tiger wrote: ↑21 Feb 2021, 14:57 Who was in charge the year we played a whole season with Arundel as our only recognised centre and Brett Ferres standing in for virtually the whole season? Never said I had proof.
Said “I think”, therefore it’s an opinion not a claim of fact.
I’m also in the group that think Shenton has gone on a season too long
The people who think BJB would be a good stop gap do so if he’s used as a winger following Feki’s latest injury. Happy for you to prove me wrong by pointing me in the direction of posts, apart from yours, that would be happy to sign BJB as a centre?

Re: Back line
BJB is an out and out winger for me, would much rather see us put Clare in the centres again if we was ever was short.Fumper27 wrote: ↑21 Feb 2021, 15:30Learn to read mate.westerbeast73 wrote: ↑21 Feb 2021, 15:09You have proof of that do you? Re: Back line
Eden not been mentioned much as fekis replacement.he’s the only one really along with evalds who can go the length of the field.I think eden could be top tryscorer again especially if Shenny hits form

Re: Back line
I agree with that. If Feki had been fit I would have wanted Eden and Feki as starting wingers.
Re: Back line
Yeah me too although I think he would have gone feki and olpherts.I’m still excited for our prospects even though we’ve lost feki.think we are going to go really well

Re: Back line
Clare is injured ? the season starts next month and if we get 1 injury to a centre or winger we have very little cover. That's on top of the fact Shenton is past it anyway so Clare is not the answer to the problem. We need an extra player asap who can cover centre and wing.MrRugby123 wrote: ↑21 Feb 2021, 15:34BJB is an out and out winger for me, would much rather see us put Clare in the centres again if we was ever was short.Fumper27 wrote: ↑21 Feb 2021, 15:30Learn to read mate.westerbeast73 wrote: ↑21 Feb 2021, 15:09You have proof of that do you? So far any suggestions about bringing players in have been shot down in flames. Go on then throw some more names in the ring who could actually sign for the season.
