Re: Squad Numbers
I mean jury still out on hepi for me , give him another year . Jesse had it day now I think . Massey too small at prop . Griffin I do like but still think he’s a better back rower . I strongly believe that we was set to sign kane evans and that when Covid struck that stopped us .

Re: Squad Numbers
If that's the case why give Millington the 10 shirt? No sentiment in rugby league.
Re: Squad Numbers
Yep, looking at the pictures I wouldnt be surprised to see Claire at prop. I just hope he hasnt bulked up too much.

Re: Squad Numbers
With how fast the game is going now though without no scrums and the 6 again , I don’t think the players should be carrying too much muscle will slow them down and make them slower . Now is time to be slimmer and fitter
Re: Squad Numbers
I still maintain we are a forward short of a good team. Ideally a prop with Griffin playing in the second row but if he is to play up front then a line bursting second row forward. We need o get looking down the back of the sofa to find the funds and use that last quota spot wisely. Everywhere else we are mostly stronger than last year in either quality or depth.
One thing we are weaker in is the coaching department though. We haven’t replaced Orr as far as i know and Powell could do with a new voice to bounce ideas off.

What about Rangi. Just a thought.

Re: Squad Numbers
Rangi was a fantastically talented player who also had the toughness when needed (ask sir Kev ) and although it doesn't always mean that sort of former player would make a good coach, I think it would be worth a go imo.
Re: Squad Numbers
Think you must be right about Eden nothing I've seen so far from Olpherts suggests to me he's anywhere near as goodwesterbeast73 wrote: ↑05 Feb 2021, 21:05 Think Powell wants Eden to prove his position after his off field problems.JSL deserves to be down graded after last seasons performances. I would have Oniel before Milner all day long and Millington is not a starting prop at his age. Glad Blair has got the 12 shirt if he stays fit he will be one to watch this season.

Re: Squad Numbers
Rangi not a good choice for me.
Look back to hisplaying days, did not set a great example off field with his social life.
Not a geat basis to be any kind of coach.
Great player when he was on song though.
For me we need an ex forward in the coaching department.
At present we got 2 halfs coaching and a winger as director of rugby.

Re: Squad Numbers
Your not wrong Altofts, though i did say that a good player doesn't always make a good coach. Maybe a bit of sentiment got in my way. Off field antics of some players is always going to be a problem imo, but I once met Rangi at the garage down Cas rd in Normy and he was fantastic to have a little natter with and he seemed to be in a good place. PS That's Rangi in a good place
Re: Squad Numbers
Think Shenton kept four shirt out off respect how long being at the club not on last year's performance still short off a centre and another top forward not project from other teams cast offs. To challenge for trophy this year.

Re: Squad Numbers
I did wonder whether the number 23 for Eden was a choice. I think it has been for players of other sports e.g. Beckham and for Cas e.g. Ryan McGoldrick and Michael Smith. Just a thought.tigerfeat wrote: ↑06 Feb 2021, 07:49Think you must be right about Eden nothing I've seen so far from Olpherts suggests to me he's anywhere near as goodwesterbeast73 wrote: ↑05 Feb 2021, 21:05 Think Powell wants Eden to prove his position after his off field problems.JSL deserves to be down graded after last seasons performances. Re: Squad Numbers
Eden will 100% play this season, can’t see us going a full season without an injury to olpherts or Feki (May not even play again).

If we brought someone into the coaching team, Paul Anderson might be a good addition.Altofts tiger25 wrote: ↑06 Feb 2021, 08:26 Rangi not a good choice for me.

Other than that, I’d take Paul Rowley.
Money will be tight though and we already have an assistant coach in Ryan Sheridan.
Re: Squad Numbers
What's Lee Crooks up to these days might b a wild card. Just a thought again.
