James Clare
Looks like he’s had a minor operation on his knee.
He’s in a leg brace.
Source, his Instagram account.
He’s just put a picture up there.

Re: James Clare
It may have been decided that a niggling little knee injury that doesn't really prevent him from playing but needed tweeking was best done during the close season.
Re: James Clare
Not sure how new this is but saw on castlefords Facebook that clare signed extension until end of 2022 season.

James has never let us down always gives 100% that is all you can ask of a player he may not be the fastest but does a job

Jon Wells:
“...he’s been asked to play in a number of different positions”.
Really? Can anyone remember him playing anywhere other than on the wing?
I’m not sure what to make of it. He’s nowhere near good enough to be first-choice at a top SL team. But we need a squad.

Re: James Clare
disagree "up the road tiger" if you picked Sticks to play stand-off he'd bleed for you, regardless of if he'd trained for it. He's a work-a-day professional and would bust his ass to try. Best in his position, of course not, but a team man, every day.
Sticks gets a lot of grief here, but I'd take him over the top with me anytime.......

You're doing it again TT...... Introducing facts into a debate will not land well with some folk....Tamworth Tiger wrote: ↑Sun Jan 31, 2021 1:00 am15th in metres made in Superleague last season isn’t a stat from a poor player
JC will be the first to say he won't be on Wane's radar for the autumn jamboree but he's a solid squad player who does a job for us.
None of our back line covered themselves in glory after last year's restart - mainly because they were on the back foot as a result of playing behind a pack that frequently got bullied.

Re: James Clare
Never let’s us down? Are you for real? Clare is shocking in defence, can’t deal with a high ball and often takes the wrong option on attack. I think one of the worst phrases anyone could use in sport is “He does a job for us”. Basically means when there’s nobody else we have to pick him. If all are fit he doesn’t make the 17 ever. That is not a good player.
The only reason he makes yards is because a good side will see how poor he is and kick to him more often. If that happens he will have more opportunity to make yards. How many times has he coast us try’s at both ends?
Cheap and nasty alternative, a bit like the last players you pick in a fantasy team because you have no money left.
Apart from that he’s brilliant. Rose tinted brigade strike again.
Re: James Clare
Goes back in my mind to when we signed him Ellis and Aston after we'd won the league once again after we'd got in a position to dominate the sport we'd be going from the summit back downhill again
The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have

Do you have a link to these stats?Tamworth Tiger wrote: ↑Sun Jan 31, 2021 1:00 am15th in metres made in Superleague last season isn’t a stat from a poor player
Even so, it’s a poor criteria to measure player ability.
Firstly, you’d expect wingers to make a lot of metres in kick returns. Its a stat that is dependent on how many games a player actually plays, rather than quality.
Secondly, it suggests teams identified him as the weak link and therefore chose to kick to him rather than the other winger or full-back.
