Interesting that it's only a one year loan. The ex-New Zealand and Samoa international moves to the Mend-A-Hose Jungle on a one-year loan from Huddersfield Giants, where he has become a regular force in the Betfred Super League following spells with New Zealand Warriors, Sydney Roosters, Penrith Panthers and Parramatta Eels in the NRL.

Still contracted next year to Hudds, saved us paying a fee for him. Or is it swap for Joe Wardle, think he's still contracted to us until end 2021 isn't he?heritage1926 wrote: ↑25 Nov 2020, 13:01 https://castlefordtigers.com/article.php?id=7170

No mate. Joe Wardle’s contract at Cas was for 3 years, 2018-2020Nobody wrote: ↑25 Nov 2020, 13:18Still contracted next year to Hudds, saved us paying a fee for him. Yes realised after posting, wonder if it's a sort of compromise due to Rankin leaving us.Fumper27 wrote: ↑25 Nov 2020, 13:56No mate. Cas still in for a second rower so I would go for Joe Greenwood from Wigan who plays a similar role to Mike and also would look a Hankinson or chase Stanley to play in the centre.

Re: Suaia Matagi Announced
Happy with this one. A one-year deal suits all parties I would think. He’s 32, but he’s been pretty durable and we need a big, proven prop forward who can make big metres. They aren’t easy to come by (especially at the moment) so we’ve signed a good, proven player for next season.
That’s Evalds, O’Brien and Matagi who are proven SL players and Bienek who has the potential to be a good player. For me, that gives us a stronger squad than last year.
A centre would be the final piece of the jigsaw now for 2021.

Re: Suaia Matagi Announced
If it helps us put Griffen in back row then it's all good. A good rotation of proper props with watts Smith and millington. Let the others fight it out for back row spots

Re: Suaia Matagi Announced
Blair did far better at second row (when fit) than centre.
Maybe there's something in the Elijah Taylor comment....

Re: Suaia Matagi Announced
Agree with that. Could’ve been down to playing centre after joining midseason and playing second row after a full preseason with the squad.
What I think we all agree on is that he did better in the forwards.
