With what money?
Bailey Hodgson fee???
Considering we'll be at a shortfall because of the losses this season id imagine that fee will be reinvested in places other than the first team squad

My own fault for not reading the hodgson statement properly lol

I dont see it being that substantial that we bring in an overseas player though, probably a championship player

Nothing on Wire forums about Trueman can’t see why they would sign him neither when they have 3 half backs already.

“The money received from the transfer fee shall be re-invested into the Castleford playing squad.”

Could mean anything, from paying a fee for a new player or extending the contract of existing players.

Hopefully the first one. Cas have a lot of dead wood and a few fresh faces is what we need. Not projects though

We’ll only be better if we can cut down on long term injuries.

We need to get a consistent team on the pitch week in week out.
Both these will be a massive factor in how we go in 2021.

In 2017, we were able to pretty much play the same time each week, which enabled us to build consistency in our performances.

Hope we invest the Bailey Hodgson fee wisely to improve the starting 17 and not on a “project or two”.

Looking forward to seeing how a spine of Evalds, Trueman, Richardson and McShane goes. Not many, if any, other teams in SL able to field and all English spine...
With out a, decent pack in front off them they won't be effective at all like nfl you can have best quatre back in game but be useless we out the blg lads, down middle. We have Watts who super league top half league standard that's, about, it
You truly are the gift that keeps on giving.

Back in 2018 when Gale was injured and Trueman was thrown into the team, it was suggested that he needed a strong pack to be able to perform. You dismissed this by saying if he was good enough, he should be able to perform.

Now, you’re saying that the spine needs a strong pack to perform.

I love it when you inadvertently agree with others after strongly disagreeing with them previously. Shows you are open to changing your perception. Either that or you didn’t realise you had done so.

Brad Martin impressed me when he played late on wouldn't surprise me if he turns into a good player for us

I agree.
He looked pretty strong.
Hope to see him get plenty of game time next year.

I don’t think we’ll have much choice next season than to play our younger players more often.

This year since lockdown, the top teams with the best academies have proved that quality youngsters coming in when you are down on numbers, rather than using squad players is the only way forward. If you take Wigan for instance, they have often been without experienced forwards like, Flower, Clubb and Burgess through injury but the youngsters like Smithies, Byrne and the loathsome but good Partington have slotted in seamlessly. This has to be the way forward for us and I see someone like a Brad Martin or Sammy Hall having a great chance to break through next season.

It may be a blessing in disguise having to rely on our young players more.. that as to be the way forward trust the system..Oneill came through and didn't look out of place we've mentioned Brad Martin there are other players too at the club who are highly thought of shame young Hodgson couldn't stay but at least it shows were doing things right developing youngsters if there being signed by NRL clubs

It certainly looks like a distinct possibility that some half decent players will not be in the 17 on match days. Can only be good for the club, if not the player(s) concerned.

I hope they do. Since 2017, too many have had bumper contracts and have been too comfortable knowing they're guaranteed a spot. For me, the likes of Milner, Jesse, Griffin even Massey now have to work even harder with the likes of Hepi and O'Neill breaking through and playing well enough for a spot. If players want to sulk, then they fall down the pecking order.
