We have made two incredibly key signings and of a top notch calibre too. Our backline looks extremely strong with Evalds and O'Brien in the mix. Hopefully they provide better service to our three quarters too.
The thing is, we were 3 years late in identifying a specialist full back, now we have signed one our front row is 3 years older and we need new props (to help Watts), our centres are 3 years older and we need a new centre. We always seem to be behind in our recruitment (bar 2nd rowers, which we seem to have loads).

Bit concerning for the rest of SL with how strong Wigan and Saints look again for 2021.

Correct that's how it's been since Wells arrived no clear thinking making it up as we go along and that's before the pandemic arrived

Plenty of rumours on Evalds going to Saints.

Is there any evidence for this?

Just a lot of empty tin cans making a lot of noise aided by the compulsory group of trolls.

I don't know any more than most.
That's honest.

What does make sense is we've signed him for a year.
Agreement or options in our favour to extend.
Waiting for the financial dust to settle.

Time will tell.
I hope the 'Evalds to Saints' tin cans put some on the Forum when decisions are made in 2021.

Probably not.

According to the "Press" today next season will start at the end of March (instead of early February) and will have 22 regular fixtures, magic weekend and 4 "loop" fixtures.

16-1 to win challange cup in 2021 I think we will be a better team next season than some think ...

We’ll only be better if we can cut down on long term injuries.

We need to get a consistent team on the pitch week in week out.
Not constantly mixing and matching.
Still need a couple of props and a Center.
IMO our forwards arnt big enough to compete with saints/Wigan on a regular basis.

With Covid still about let’s hope the season starts in March and we don’t have stupid percentages thrown into the mix.
If that happens I’ll totally lose interest in the game.

We will be solid next year as it stands but without a couple of props we will be far from spectacular

Both these will be a massive factor in how we go in 2021.

In 2017, we were able to pretty much play the same time each week, which enabled us to build consistency in our performances.

Hope we invest the Bailey Hodgson fee wisely to improve the starting 17 and not on a “project or two”.

Looking forward to seeing how a spine of Evalds, Trueman, Richardson and McShane goes. Not many, if any, other teams in SL able to field and all English spine...

Keep hearing all this about Evalds going to Saints and Trueman going to Warrington. Anyone know where this has come from and if there's actually anything in it? Personally wouldn't mind too much if Trueman left, might be a great player in the future but at the minute I'd be disappointed to see him start over O'Brien, but it would be embarrassing if Evalds left after a year.

I have to agree if he left for a substantial fee and gave us the chance to sign a decent centre and 2 quality props and half back cove r would it be that bad in the long run ?

Next year's spine is what I'm pinning my optimism on you don't need star players in every position if you've got a good spine and a good coach
We defiantly need to stop players getting injured in training obviously your going to get injuries but not to the extent we've had out side matches in the last 2 or 3 years
And I'm banking on us signing a couple more players even if it's after the seasons started

We won’t sign any more players, GOB and Evalds is it and club is skint, will be promoting some youngsters and Hodgson fee and saved salary from Moors etc will go to improved deals and keeping club running. Sad times

With out a, decent pack in front off them they won't be effective at all like nfl you can have best quatre back in game but be useless we out the blg lads, down middle. We have Watts who super league top half league standard that's, about, it

As we all keep saying we have no size at all every other team has a few big lads who can draw men in to free up the backs ! I can’t believe we aren’t utilising our quota spots on at least one big prop

Junior moors
Mike Mcmeeken
Bailey hodgson.
Matt cook.

Two big earners in moors and Mcmeeken
A transfer fee of hodgson.

Evalds = moors wage
GOB = cooks wage

With hodgson transfer fee and Mcmeekens wage surely with can afford a wage for at least 1/2 props.
