Re: Powell
If Powell can work the same magic on Connors temperament he as done with Watts, Connor will become one hell of a player.

Re: Powell
I think it’s all rubbish like usual when a “big club” are looking for a coach. Daryl will only leave when he’s know he’s accomplished something.
Re: Powell
If Powell was to go then i’d move for the Ward/Langley combo from London. Did well last year against all the odds and both have local connections. It would be nice if they brought their conditioning and physio teams with them as well. London always looked one of the fittest around and rarely suffer many injuries.
Re: Powell
Unless he now thinks that due to budgets being squeezed he no longer can here.MrRugby123 wrote: ↑31 Oct 2020, 13:18 I think it’s all rubbish like usual when a “big club” are looking for a coach. Daryl will only leave when he’s know he’s accomplished something.

Re: Powell
If DP de idea to go then that is his choice and nobody can stop him.
If you compare what Hull have against Cas then they are better than us in every way bar the coach.
Stadium
Crowds
Players
Prospects
Training facilities
On it joking and support team
Compare both clubs in any of the above and we are way behind Hull. If you had been at a club where things looked as good as they did in 2017 and you look at things just 3 years later would you feel positive about the next 3 years?
My hope is that he stays and builds on things but without the input and support from the powers that be it will be a massive task.
I am just hoping his loyalty to the cause will outweigh anything else and he will still be here for the foreseeable.
If that isn’t the case then I feel we are seriously in trouble and the future will be very very bleak indeed.
We shall see.

Shaun Wane would be the only one I want but it will end up being Ryan Sheridan

If the worse was to happen and DP goes It would have to be Wane, Ward or Hendo for me

I really hope DP stays but if he goes, for whatever reason, Danny Ward would be my first choice followed by Hendo.

Re: Powell
Sadly I agree with most of that
Re: Powell
Can't see Daryl leaving myself. He's signed Evalds, whom, is the best English full back atm. we've got mcshane, Richardson and Trueman as his lynch pins, if, Toronto don't come back to sl we sign O'brien. Would he make those signings if he thought about leaving nope.

Re: Powell
Naaa ! Can’t see Daryl leaving just yet as he had unfinished business - he hadn’t won the challenge cup or the Grand Final which must be frustrating for him Considering the amount of time he had spent with Cas !
He is a proud man and I’m sure he wants to do this for his local area before he would ever consider moving and I have always detected a bit of loyalty about him and it would take a monumental decision On his part, a lucrative offer he just can’t refuse or an abject rejection of him from the fan base For him to make that move - He’s one of us you know !!

Re: Powell
My main fear is he’s seen comparitve budgets and knows, just knows, he will damage his career beyond repair staying with us, whilst Pearson will be full of guarantees including a possible powerhouse squad of Daryls choice, and potentially a 6 figure wage increase. Yes, 6 figures.

Re: Powell
A ground that isn't theirs and volatile owner who'll demand instant success, nope, Daryl doesn't go for that kind of person look at koukash Daryl wasn't keen on his character and the Hull owner is of the same cloth.

Re: Powell
Are you now of the belief that Powell is capable of accomplishing something with Cas? Only you were calling for 'Powell out, there's only so far a man can take you' in the Squad for Hull FC thread.MrRugby123 wrote: ↑31 Oct 2020, 13:18 I think it’s all rubbish like usual when a “big club” are looking for a coach. As I posted in the same thread, i believe it would be very damaging to the club if there were any truth in this rumour and he was to leave the club.
Re: Powell
I don’t usually call for announcements but at this time I’d like to hear
Not leaving until achieved a goal
For the fans , Covid rubbish and for the players that would / wouldn’t consider us a good club to join over the next few years....
Over to you wellsy...your time to talk to the people imo.

Re: Powell
Good call Mysterio.Watson didn’t waste time putting the rumours to bed.
Re: Powell
I hope Powell is staying, but if not:Tigerman2014 wrote: ↑31 Oct 2020, 12:29 If DP was to go who could we get to possibly take charge ???
Shaun Wane - no chance
Brian McDermott - Wouldn’t be my choice
Danny Ward - Up and coming doing a great job at London
Andrew Henderson - A favourite and good leader as captain as a player did well at London and been in a top end set up at Wolves.
James Ford - Think he’s in a good set up at York doubt he’d leave
Richard Marshall - Did well at Fax yet again in a good role at Saints
Lee Radford - No thanks don’t think he could work on a low budget and has struggled on a bigger one
John Kear - Would apply it’s his dream job just not the right man
Or would we look abroad loads of options Stephen Kearney etc
Wane- no chance he would come to Cas
McDermott- NRL bound, might have gone to Hull but cant see him at Cas.
Wouldn't touch Radford or Kear.
Doubt we would go NRL.
Danny Ward would he my choice and should be a possible
Ford - would be a good option but less likely.
Henderson/Marshall- both decent calls if the want to move to a head coach role.

Not necessary.
Basically some poop stirrer has made it up on total rl fans, literally not 1 bit of substance in that,no one from hull got anything to add to it. Its nonsense.

Re: Powell
Correct, we only see the same rumours. I would wager in these dreadful circumstances, AP will give Andy Last more time, he’s done quite well up to now.
But it’s a business, and selling season tickets is so important so an announcement of DP as the new coach, or someone of that stature, would be a terrific boost.
