Not playing then playing at short notice.
Having to play 2 games in 3 days, that’s bloody ridiculous in this day and age for any sports men/women. Where as the safety of the players gone.

I hope daryll stays, let’s see what players we bring in for next season.
If our recruitment is crap then I’d be looking at jon wells.
Powell can only work with who wells Chooses. get rid of wells and let daryl have 100% rein on who we recruit.
Agree 100% on Wells tho I'm sure Powell as the big say now anyway

Why do people insist on thinking Jon Wells picks who we buy, Daryl picks the players and Wells does the dealing.
Correct. If you are blaming Wells, you may as well go back to blaming the club shop staff for all it is worth.

It has been explained that DP likes signing project players because he gets the most enjoyment out of coaching that way and I agree.

The only alternative is that we become a selling club, which folk won't like on here. Improve, sell at their peak and reinvest the cash elsewhere.

But then we would have folk moaning about being a selling club and how we will never compete if we sell our best players.

The club cannot win.

To chip on some of the earlier posts, I think we are in a transition period exactly where Saints were a few years back.

We have just lost a lot of our backs (Hardaker, Rankin, Webster, Roberts) and let others go. We have had to completely rebuild that.

And now we are having to do the same with the forwards and rebuild this year. It is a shame that Covid has happened as this is likely to impact on spending, movement in the market and player availability. We may have to fix up where we can and wait another 12 months to judge properly.

I wouldn’t say we have just lost a lot of our backs with hardaker Webster and Roberts it’s three years since hardaker left and We have had plenty of time to replace the other two We simply have not kicked on from 2017

Basically, regardless of how tough the hands we have been dealt, we are still well shortt of a side to win silverware in my view. Lack the spark or pace or explosion or inventiveness.
Watts is our xfactor and it's not enough.

That wasn't factoring in players we have let go:
Minikin
Gale
Ellis
Gill
Egodo

Of the 2017 side the only ones that remain are Eden and Shenton.

Out of the starting 17 , theres probably 6 players that shouldn't be there imo. Eden , Moors , Shenton , Mcmeeken , Milner , and Jesse . Add in Feki who might be a world beater but we never see him . That's alot of money in those contracts. I know with a full squad we arent a bad side but we are been carried every week by the same players. Macca , Trueman, Richardson and Watts. I like all the players but some just arent good enough. For what its worth I think GOB has been outstanding since he arrived and would definitely be looking into keeping him . Would be a fantastic back up at 1/6/9.

Miildred came with a good reputation after coaching a team of stars at Saints well out of his depth when he came to coach our team at the time DP came and turned it round

One other thing is how much blame should be put in the players?

The coach picks the players but he doesn't make them miss tackles, drop the ball or throw it behind. The Warrington game consisted of so many coach killing bad decisions that the onus has to be put on the players.

Some of them need to take some time away, get their heads in the game, and earn their place in the team. We can't play with half our team only playing at 70% instead of 95-100%.

There's a thread on Total rl that Powell is to be announced as the new Hull coach. It was posted a few hours ago.

If true that would sum up 2020 perfectly particularly adding Danny’s departure to it.

If he does, not sure how he’d feel been second choice to Ian Watson

It’s amazing all the hull fans are loving him because they think he’s off there.
If it back fires ala Watson then they’ll be saying, phew we missed a bullet there :)

If Daryl leaves it will leave me far more devestated than when stuart Raper left.

Daryl is one of us. I’m sure he won’t go quietly, he’ll want to explain the true reasons....fultons maybe implicated.

Danny might have gone having known this and having known he’s not ready for head coach here

I’d look no further than Danny ward if Daryl were to leave,

It could be quite literally a devastating blow to the club and team and if things aren’t done to get an equal in (impossible) and I can foresee a slow demise of our SL status.

I’m devestated even at the rumour. Total anxiety

If DP was to go who could we get to possibly take charge ???
Shaun Wane - no chance
Brian McDermott - Wouldn’t be my choice
Danny Ward - Up and coming doing a great job at London
Andrew Henderson - A favourite and good leader as captain as a player did well at London and been in a top end set up at Wolves.
James Ford - Think he’s in a good set up at York doubt he’d leave
Richard Marshall - Did well at Fax yet again in a good role at Saints
Lee Radford - No thanks don’t think he could work on a low budget and has struggled on a bigger one
John Kear - Would apply it’s his dream job just not the right man
Or would we look abroad loads of options Stephen Kearney etc

If Darryl leaves that would be big red flags up at the state the club were in ...but hopefully it's just another rumour and if it's a normal-ish season next year we will be back in contention

Out of that lot my chose would be.

Danny Ward first. Doing a cracking job at London on small resources.
James ford, but I think he’s building something at York.
Andrew Henderson. Done his apprenticeship, a bit like Orr.

Wane and McDermott, no thanks.
Wane I doubt would take the job anyhow.
McDermott wanted at an NRL club, so the rumour goes.
Steve Kearney. Good enough but I think the club will go British.
