Re: Squad for Thursday
Really hope Peanut is not the stand off.
If he is I can't see a win as he is not a creative player. Last week we had a poor left edge.

So trueman still not fit.
Feki I don’t expect him fit any time soon.
Thought Blair would be back this week.

Re: Squad for Thursday
Dont think Toronto players can be cup tied can they ? If the rules state all points won and scored against Toronto became null and void and in effect the games never took place. Not 100% though.

Re: Squad for Thursday
Pretty sure Powell said before the season started James Clare would be used in the centre if injuries occurred in that position.Tigersbarmy wrote: ↑08 Sep 2020, 13:05Just a quick question from me , when have you ever seen james Clare play at centre ?MrRugby123 wrote: ↑08 Sep 2020, 12:08 O’brian

Re: Squad for Thursday
Waste of a bench spot having Moors there if he can only do 5 mins. Need to be able to use all 4 subs for decent minutes.MrRugby123 wrote: ↑08 Sep 2020, 12:08 O’brian

Re: Squad for Thursday
I suspect he will go with O'Brien, Olpherts, Foster, Shenton, Eden, Mata'tiua, Richardson for the Warrington game,
Hodgson, Olpherts, Mata'tiua, Shenton, Eden/Feki, Trueman, Richardson for the Hull game Sunday (injuries permitting and if Feki is close to being fit).

Two different competitions. Toronto played and beat Hudds, which is still in the records.

Injured still. Interview on Radio Leeds suggests Sunday may be too early for him too.

Re: Squad for Thursday
To be honest, I don't see much change from the Salford game. I would have O'Neill in but not confident DP will.

Suspect Turner will be there instead of O'Neill though just in case we need someone for the backs.
Hepi, Clare and Peachey come in Sunday in place of Moors, Millo and maybe Olpherts.

Re: Squad for Thursday
I’ve always thought rules about being ‘cup tied’ are stupid.takethetwo wrote: ↑08 Sep 2020, 12:49 Dont think Toronto players can be cup tied can they ? If the rules state all points won and scored against Toronto became null and void and in effect the games never took place. Not 100% though.
The principle seems to be that you can’t play for two teams in the same competition, but it only arbitrarily applied to certain games.
We don’t prevent players from competing for different teams in the Super League competition, so why is there a different rule for the cup competition?
I know it’s the same in most sports, but I just don’t understand why we only apply it to some competitions, but not others.

Re: Squad for Thursday
It also seems somewhat ironic for the Toronto players, they won their tie against Huddersfield but are cup tied even though Toronto pulled out leaving the players unpaid and not able to play in the next round which the had won the right to do so and possibly the chance of a medal through none of their fault.
Players penalised for something beyond their control.
