Likewise. Thought he looked like he could make a difference when he came on, only for him to go off pretty quickly.old cas lass wrote: ↑10 Sep 2020, 22:38
That totally baffled me.
He brought enthusiasm pace and aggression.
Maybe daryll likes watching pathetic old men in , millington moors, and heartless mcmeeken.
I’m sick of it.

At least one amusing moment was one of the sky numpties at half time saying he had played outstanding wtfheritage1926 wrote: ↑10 Sep 2020, 22:29 if McMeekan plays Sunday and the rest of this season, I won't be watching another game.

Gonna be a nothing season, not good enough. The Feki situation just sums it up.
Re: Squad for Thursday
As good as macca and richardson were last week they were both honking tonight
Our kicking game must be the worst in the league. So many 7 tackle sets, didnt apply pressure at all in the 2nd half. Drilled for touch last 15 mins against a side running in empty with 10 missing. I appreciate not over playing but contest a kick like they did ALL night on eden's side

Yeah. i did not understand why they would bring off the biggest heart on the field. Our last ditch attack looks unprepared, which is down to the back team. A lot of questions need to be answered.old cas lass wrote: ↑10 Sep 2020, 22:38

I have to say that is completely gutting is that one. Effort and endeavour faultless. Forwards layed a great platform but our final pass or decision making is terrible. I’m sure it’s a mental thing. I would love to know stats on how many times we get scored against on hooter at both half time and full time. We are mentally weak when it really matters it seems. Disappointed maccas running game went missing again as well. I refuse to bag individual players after that because everyone of them gave it all. Just not good enough it would seem. Think we need to get a shrink in to see them to toughen them up mentally and give them some belief. I also think the St Helens hoodoo is playing a massive part in it as well as a side note.

Totally lacking killer instinct and x factor in either pace or ball skills. A bit of grit did show in that performance. Put in a shift enough to give us a sniff but had no clinical edge. Some of the last tackle plays were appalling and they swung momentum until eventually [REMOVED] poor defensive line reads from Mcmeeken and Foster lost the game.
A full strength Wire would have won more comfortably I'm afraid.
Feel for Wattsy and Mcshane along with a few others. So much average in that squad.

I suspect you mean we have a 25% win percentage.

Think Cas have had the bad end of the stick with fixtures but if the coach is putting players in the side each week who are shocking he needs to take some blame. I'm having a wip round for a plane ticket for McMeekan. Any one want to contribute ?

Re: Squad for Thursday
DP looked as shell shocked and disappointed at the end as I've ever seen him - in comparison to some of the players who seemed to find it a bit too easy to raise a smile whilst still on the pitch at the end. Regardless of the different standard, if I had played in any game like that and lost in that manner, I would have been filthy for an hour afterwards.daytona wrote: ↑10 Sep 2020, 22:43 I have to say that is completely gutting is that one. Maybe individual errors and losing are both just a bit too acceptable at our club.

Yes but least they are all one big happy family and fit in with Powells idea of what personality he likes his players to have. Get Hardaker back he might be a prat off the field BUT HES A BLOODY GOOD RUGBY PLAYER.

Re: Squad for Thursday
First post for me on here and, although I'm a Saints fan, Cas have always been my 'second' team. I've come to the conclusion the officials subconsciously favour the bigger teams. You're all picking faults with your team but, to put it all in perspective, Richardson scored a perfectly valid try and Olpherts was the only player ever going to reach the ball when obstructed, so that's another 6 point penalty try. At 18 - 6 no way are Wire taking part for the last 15 mins and you probably increase the winning margin. Totally robbed I'd conclude!

Re: Squad for Thursday
I want to feel sorry for DP, he's not the one dropping balls, missing tackles and generally not being arsed. But then, he's the one who keeps choosing the likes of McMeekan etc and its hard to have sympathy for him.
Re: Squad for Thursday
We've played saints and Wigan in close games. They've subsequently had a player banned for 6+ matches because they should have been sent off. We have 2 video ref decisions overturning the ref today. Makes you wonder who they want in top 4. 6 points lost

As much as they should have been red cards in the games, we shouldnt be needing teams to go down to 12 men to have a chance!

Re: Squad for Thursday
I’m actually more annoyed with the likes of Sene-Lafeo, who chose to put himself in a position where he can’t play,
And Feki, who can’t be bothered to put the effort into recovering from injury.
McMeeken is a pretty close third, though,

We badly miss Truemans short kicking game. Our last tackle kicks stunk tonight.
Pete M is a good runner but our attack stopped so often when he got the ball.
Mcmeeken is naff and wouldnt get picked again this year for me.
Jaques ONeill is a bloody good talent and needs minutes. Looked very good.
Moors.. did he go off injured? Nice bloke, gave good service but play Hepi instead!

Re: Squad for Thursday
If the red cards were correctly given, Cas would have played 40+ minutes against 2 teams they were beating and 1 they were drawing with, so despite all the mistakes and poor attacking play - with correct officiating you could make a very strong argument that Cas would have been 6 points better off. In fact, Warrington should have been down to 10 at one point in the 2nd half.heritage1926 wrote: ↑10 Sep 2020, 23:02As much as they should have been red cards in the games, we shouldnt be needing teams to go down to 12 men to have a chance!
Cas should have been 20 up at HT tonight, though. The sooner McMeeken goes to Catalans the better too, complete liability.
