Re: Tommy in trouble?
Grade F which carries 8+ games. Any less than 5 is an insult. Should have seen red on field.
Re: Tommy in trouble?
There is no slap on the wrist for this. If found guilty its a lenghtly ban. If found not guilty he's back next week.
Re: Tommy in trouble?
Watts should of rolled around in pain
Video would of looked at it and we would of won the game.

Re: Tommy in trouble?
The most frustrating thing about the crown jewels incident is that if Makinson does get found guilty, Cas don't get any benefit whatsoever. I have no idea how how he could get away with it, seeing it's so clear to see.

I’ve said for years that one game of any suspension should be served against the team the offence was committed against.Tigers1926 wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 22:08 The most frustrating thing about the crown jewels incident is that if Makinson does get found guilty, Cas don't get any benefit whatsoever. So if Makinson gets 8 games, he should sit out the next 7 and also the next game against Cas.

It's made the Fox news website in Australia, with a video clip as well.
Can't imagine what the NRL will think of the judiciary panel here if Makinson gets a small ban!

Re: Tommy in trouble?
Then so be it. At least the team who have suffered from the consequence of foul play will see some kind of benefit. At the moment, we are seeing clubs lose players to foul play, and the consequence of that benefits other clubs rather than the team who have suffered.
Players will also be far less inclined to commit such offences if they know it could result in them missing a final. The next Cas v Saints game could well be the Grand Final or Cup Final (optimistic I know, but we need to get a grip of some of the foul play that has been creeping in over the last few years).

Re: Tommy in trouble?
I understand the idea but not sure it’s workable.e.g. Evalds sent off or suspended v us in our second league game this season
How does that work next season?

Re: Tommy in trouble?
Good idea that Notts, but it involves common sense, and the rfl disciplinary don't do common sense..
Re: Tommy in trouble?
Great idea that. Always thought it unfair when a punishment doesn’t benefit the team being played against. Also think that if Foul Play results in injury to a player, then the ban should be equal to the time the injured player is out of the game. Thoughts?nottinghamtiger wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 22:18I’ve said for years that one game of any suspension should be served against the team the offence was committed against.Tigers1926 wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 22:08 The most frustrating thing about the crown jewels incident is that if Makinson does get found guilty, Cas don't get any benefit whatsoever. Not that different to if a player is sent off and then suspended for a number of games towards the end of the season before moving clubs.Tamworth Tiger wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 23:39 I understand the idea but not sure it’s workable.e.g. Evalds sent off or suspended v us in our second league game this season

In that circumstance, I’d say reduce the suspension by one game. Or you could make him sit out the first eligible game for his new club, which is almost always a meaningless friendly.
